Z4 Tyres

Hi Folks,

Just purchased a very nice Z4 at the weekend. I bought it in the knowledge that the rear tyres need replacing. Can anybody recommend what type or brand to put on it. I have a friend who said that run flats affect the performance of the car and that i would be better off with standard tyres.

and....could somebody tell me how to upload a picture of my car to my to my post signature.

Thanks

Robert

As you would imagine there is a lot on here about different tyre types and recommendations but the general consensus is that a change from RFTs (on all four corners) makes a significant difference to ride and handling. Try a 'search' - top right in the red bar and don't be surprised at the number of results!

Welcome Rob! Agree with AlanJ - definitely ditch the run flats. As for brand, there are various opinions on here... Falken FK452, Vredesteins.... I've got 452s on mine. Vast improvement on the run flats.

Thanks for the the warm welcome guys :D and thanks for the info on searching.

It definitely looks like ditching the run flats is the way forward.

Cheers

Robert

Hi Rob,
The runflat debate is an interesting one. I just replaced my Bridgestones with Michelin runflats and there is a significant improvement in ride.

Thanks for the welcome and opinions guys :D

I have got a price for Vredistien ₤152 per tyre for the rear and ₤126 for the front

Seems very reasonable and hoping to get them fitted tomorrow

Thanks

welcome.. I have just gone from RFT to falken 452 and the difference is amazing soooo much smoother..

Welcome,
I changed my Bridgestone RFT fronts to Michelin RFTs and the ride was transformed - no more tramlining and the ride is much more comfortable :)
