Z4 to Elise

Sean, drove one in Wexford at the weekend also... maybe the same one... my only worry would be getting in and out of it with a suit on... lovely cars though

My mate had Elise mk1 and now he is paralysed from the neck down, a woman in a range rover cut out on him without seeing him slid into the back spun and oncoming car hit him head on n he broke his neck 3 places! All because the car has no weight and no safety devices!

That's a bit horrific. :o Surely that is more to do with a range rover cutting out on him?

Did she take responsibility?

Before it went to court her Solicitor advised the insurance to settle early and there was only 1 witness that didn't see much he was doing 45mph in a 40!! But what I'm saying if it was a normal/ heavier car it wouldn't of spun so much as he hit her and he wouldn't be like he is!!

His life is wrecked after nearly 2 years in hospital and a payout of only 1 mill, that's it!!

I would never buy 1 as they are not road worthy in my eyes!

Sobering story Leon. Elise is a very basic car in terms of modern crumple zones/air bags etc. If you're unlucky enough to fnd yourself in a bad crash then a BMW would be preferable to a Lotus.
