the point. In the past 'we' would have prioritised our money to get into that car....today there are so many other things that a 19 year old chap would rather spend his money on. Maybe it's different where I live, but I rarely see young chaps driving mid range 2 seater sports cars.

Bought mine at 23, just finished a roadtrip with 12 mates of the same age. We took 5 cars, 3 of which were 2 seater sports cars - the other two being a 130i and RS4. Of the 7 cars that were left at home, 2 were also 2 seater sports cars...

I just don't think you see us so often on forums and consequently forum meets, sadly due to Facebook etc. these days.

They are? The Model 3 is outselling all it's competitors combined. Once more segments are covered with other models (stupid mini SUVs etc.) even more will sell.

Bollocks! Electric car sales in the U.K. for 2018 represented 2.7% of total cars sold. Tesla has debts of nearly $12 billion, produces cars of questionable quality and is run by a sociopath. I doubt this is a path BMW will want to follow.

I guess we'll see who's right in 10 years .

The gaps only going to get wider until other manufacturers catch up.

Interesting but the fact remains that the market share for electric cars in the USA in 2018 was 2.1%. Way to go!

We shouldn’t forget that, with the huge take-up in PCPs: Young people, with a modest deposit can get into a brand new car? Based upon my own nephews and young relatives: The sound system and connectivity is a much a selling point as engine performance or handling. Of which most have had little experience.
Just look at most cars ads on TV? All about Technology and no mention of performance...😢

BMW and Mercedes have terrible reliability on the whole. Why else do they depreciate like a stone...
They depreciate because they're expensive yet common, nothing to do with reliability.

Having 6,208cc in my life every day makes me happy. If I have to fix something once in a while so what.
