Z4 tail light

Hi All
can anyone tell me what could be the problem with the driver side tail light its not as bright as passenger side

Different bulbs?

It's got the same bulbs in that its had in for a few years but now one side is not as bright as the other side

Well you’d have to start by changing the bulb. If this didn’t sort it I’d be looking for a bad earth somewhere.

I'll try changing the bulb to start with i just thought if its showing some light it can't be the bulb

It could be a bad / corroded contact on the bulb or the holder.

if the bulb holder is not positioned correctly it will not be projecting out the same light ,just something simple to check first

The facelift (and coupe) rear lights use LEDs for the tail lights.

These are sealed in the unit and aren't replaceable...

Consensus from this thread is that the whole unit will need to be replaced

Will need a whole new unit. I got mine from a breaker on ebay.

Was going to say the same thing. You can’t replace the LED’s unfortunately
