Z4 Straight Thru Back Box for sale - £100

Hi Guys. just popped this on ebay......

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/271329855995?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649

Hya - simply offer up my one to your car and measure where to make the cut on existing exhaust pipes. neatly cut thru. clamp up with 2 new U bolts!

ta-daaaaaaaa

will post a bit more - as per the advert, its a hand made back section made from Stainless steel by Torque Flow in Birmingham. custom made to fit the Z4 (mine was a 2006 Cab 3.0Si. All that will be required is to measure the length of mine up against your existing system and make a neat cut. The joining pipes are flared slightly so they fit over the existing pipes and all youll need are 2 U clamps and some sealant.
The hangars were made to fit the existing hangars on the car - its a purpose fit for a Z4 3.0Si. when its time to change back just do what i did.. undo U clamps, slide off and pop orginal one back on!
The end/exit pipes were personally chosen by me to fill the rear bumper hole. looks far nicer as its full. the end pipes are also staggered by a few mm so that they follow the lines of the rear bumber.
its not too loud, sounds ace ( i thought) but dont expect Library quiet running!! be real, its a straight thru back box. sying that, it sounded awsome with the roof down and on full chat. any qeustions drop me them thru ebay guys.
I only took this off as it cost me £200 and i traded my car in for a 645 Conv 9 months ago and wanted it back to std for the trade in.

3.0 si hanger is different to the standard 3.0 hanger ( 2003-2005 3.0)
Incase anyone was wanting this for their prefacelift

Hmm, I am sure I am being a bit dim, but ok I cut my standard pipes and yours has flared ends to fit over my standard pipe work, but how do I refit my standard box when the time comes?

easy - mine was done and put back to std with a small same guage tube and U clamps by a garage. cost £30 job done. just sleve the cut

In addition to a price - and tbh I reckon £100 would be fair for a second hand part like this - they could do with a damned good clean :poke: :D

they are a bit dirty. its just a bit of road muck n will be sparkly in no time.
£100 is fair agree. there is a shed load of looks on flea bay and quite a few offers in background

they do look much better than the std pea-shooters tho

Just out of interest how can it be legal?
This is from the Construction and Use regs 1986

Silencers

54. (1) Every vehicle propelled by an internal combustion engine shall be fitted with an exhaust system including a silencer and the exhaust gases from the engine shall not escape into the atmosphere without first passing through the silencer.
(2) Every exhaust system and silencer shall be maintained in good and efficient working order and shall not be altered so as to increase the noise made by the escape of exhaust gases

isn't there a silencer half way along the pipes too? That would be enough for the regs..
as for altering.. they are referring to drilling holes or removing wadding.. exchanging the part for another, louder part, doesn't count as alteration... otherwise you'd never be able to have an aftermarket exhaust ;)

Nice one

It was a serious question cos I was thinking of buying it :driving:

Haha sorry, I was only joking. But yes I think you'd be hugely unlucky for anybody to say anything about them - and a lot of people run modified OEMs, and many aftermarkets. You could get it and swap with your OEM come MOT time if you were worried?

It's not as illegal as your number plate fella !! Or the
blacked out lights !!!

It would however give you a triple whammy of mods
to the rear of your car!!

Seriously .... It's not that loud and doubt it affects mot one bit
Best bit is, if mot'er is an ass you can say I'll be back in half hour
and pop std one on.

The sound is quite fab. I loved the overrun burble
