Z4 stolen

Very glad to hear you have it back, esp with no damage...

Do you think you'll need to secure it further?
 
I'm not sure insurance would have paid out in the UK if you'd left your keys in it.....well done for getting it back

I have invested in a Viper antitheft system, so hopefully I can continue roadstering for a long time without fear of thieves.

I'm impressed that you were able to get a Viper installed in the car. I took my car to the best local alarm shop and they kept it for 2 days. They finally called me to pick up the car; they had spent four hours on the phone with Viper tech support and countless hours on their own trying (unsuccessfully) to get the alarm integrated into the car. Their main competitor agreed with the difficulty of a Viper in a Z4 and wouldn't even attempt it. Both complained about BMW's factory alarm wiring. I was shocked, as I've installed several car alarms and thought any type could be installed in any car with ease. I had a BMW alarm installed instead, but would have much preferred the Viper. The cost was the same for either system, due to BMW's labor charges.

I'd have the car doors/ignition/trunk re-keyed; I could not stand knowing some little bugger had a key to my pride and joy, even with an alarm installed.
