Z4 - Steering problems - Help please?

Hi there,

Hope you all are well.

I'm wondering if anyone can provide any advice to a newbie please.

I went for a test drive of a Zed (2008 - 2.0i Sport covert) on Saturday at a BMW dealership, I liked the car but wasn't sure about the steering. The steering tended to pull more in the direction I wanted to turn whether left or right, it didnt feel like a naturally smooth tranistion from either left to right or right to left.

As this is the first Zed I've ever driven (I will drive two more this Saturday) I wasn't sure if this was something typical of the Zed or whether it was specific to this vehicle.

Also the car seems undervalued at £14,000 with 18,000 niles on the clock so that got me thinking there may be an issue.

If anyone has any thoughts on this or has experienced anything similar any advice would be appreciated.

Many Thanks

Andy

Could be something as simple as tracking or worn tyres on one side - not a specific Z4 issue - effects all cars (unless its had a knock or the suspension/mounts etc are damaged

Either way not your concern, but one for the dealer to sort before your even consider buying

Thats a good price if its all Ok but you should get 12 months warranty from a BMW dealer but get them to make sure its all Ok before you get it.
I have a 2.0i sports and dont have that problem. :driving:

It could be the Runflat tyres they do have tendency to control the steering ie tramlining which can be a bit worrying,an easy fix change to non runflats they transform the car
