I’d certainly have a set from you if they are reasonably priced . Afraid I can’t help with letting you borrow a pair though :(
Ditto.
To be honest so would I if they were in say the £20-30 price bracket. That way I wouldn't be too bothered if i didn't really use them or if I forgot I had them fitted and accidentally put the roof up and one popped off/broke etc.
Good opportunity for someone to rustle some up, the demand definitely seems to be there.

Bonkers.
I'll be 3D printing and selling these just as soon as I can get my hands on an original pair to scan.
Anyone care to join me in this commercial venture?
My Ultimaker printer is prepped and ready to go....

Unless your cat is awfully big I think you may need a bigger printer. Difficult to scale against a family pet but they are longer than you think. I will measure mine against our cat later for you, when he is finished bird and insect worrying.

These are a no brainier at sub £50. They are ridiculous at £350. Let’s hope you can print some, and cheaply!

I don't have a pair but willing to pay a sensible contribution!

Also up for a pair at a decent price. Will have to keep a look out for an original set just in case. Could we buy as a group and get sets made up??

.... and for me this is an example of where this forum works well and is the only one I follow and contribute a number of post too.

Sounds great if you can keep the cost down. I would put my hand up for a pair (almost bid on a set on ebay when they were only making around the £100 mark a couple of years ago) although having thought about it I don't know if I would use them. I always drive with the top down unless its raining but always put it up when parked - I don't know how inconvenient I'd find it to get out of the seat to remove them every time. Its the same top down approach that stopped me buying a hard top for winter!

Don't get me wrong I'm not knocking this project - just to lazy to get out of the seat  ... but pm me if one more set sold would get the project viable.

Nice one Colin. Let's keep it in mind and Trav if you could get an overall length definition that would be great. Not sure off the top of my head what the z axis print limit is.
It's a thin shape overall so tilting it to maximise the build volume would work if I can't print it 'vertically'.

I don't have any nylon filament spools at the mo either and my tenure at Ultimaker is coming to an end.
Will see if I can bag a load before I go just in case this takes off.
Also need to figure out how to scan it. Ultimaker doesnt have anything in the R&D dept that works really so I'll need to invest, or see if someone else has scanned and deposited it at one of the builder sites.

I'm sure I toyed with this idea a while back and it came to nothing. Can't remember why tho. Hmm...

(The cat took ages to print. His whiskers were the hardest part  )

Loooool, i can tell by your cats' demeanour that he wasn't entirely willing to partake in this comparison exercise!

Can you measure its' longest straight-line dimension perhaps. Doesnt have to be spot on. Guestimate with a tape measure will do.
What you could do is try to position it between 2 surfaces where you think its longest dimension occurs. take the cover away and measure the distance between the 2 surfaces perhaps.

Do you know how many times the idea of 3D Printing these have been bought up!? I've said in countless threads I'd be happy to model and try and print if someone was willing to loan me a set for a while to do it. A fair few offers to loan the parts but nothing ever came to fruition, no one ever bothered to send or drop some off to me. I have 4 x 3D Printers and have been 3D Printing for a few years now, the largest I have is a CR-10S which has a volume of 300w x 300d x 400h ... These would have to be printed in 2 parts and then some post-processing to join them purely due to the size of them.

I don't want a pair myself, I wouldn't ever use them and personally think they're pointless - BUT, I do recognise others do want and use them and out of community spirit I'd love to see these modelled and printed! I already said I would release the STLs publicly if I modelled them, and also would print for people at "material costs" and not for profit, but alas, still no one was willing to loan me a pair, or never got around to posting them, or sold them with the car, or sold them on on their own... or whatever.

That Ultimaker 3 Extended is a nice machine - but you'll still have to print each side in 2 parts and post process. The build volume is a fraction smaller than my CR-10S

FWIW: I have a CTC Dual (a bit crappy), a Cube 3rd Gen (POS, but was super cheap @ £50 and I've hacked it to use normal filament), a Wanhao Duplicator i3 v1 - still going strong despite being demoted from #1 work horse to #2, and the Creality CR10-S which is my current #1 work horse
