This & it seems to totally defeat the second most useful bit of comfort access. Closing the door and locking the car by simply closing the door with two fingers on the rearward undercut bit of door handleManiac said:My e89 doors shut incredibly easily and there's no need for this.

I never said that! I said it defeated the second most useful bit of comfort access. Something which I found on a 5 series with comfort access & soft close doors.Angie4m said:Still doesn't defeat the purpose of comfort access
When I was deciding on spec on my 1 series I asked for a demonstration of the comfort access system, the only cars the sales exec knew had comfort access also had soft close. Before we got to the car he felt the need to mentioned that the soft close feature made locking of the car via the handle much more awkward than it would be on a non-soft close car. If he felt the need to mention it before taking me to a car for demonstration then does mean to some extent that feature of comfort access is compromised.Angie4m said:People who may consider such an option may be put off by thinking that a feature of their car will no longer work or be compromised when it's just your personal preference to shut your door in the fashion you seem to have laid out above.
