It happened!!!

Left for work and then started to blizzard after an hour so came home. Should have stayed at home.

I got to our road (a very steep incline) where it happened. Doing really well (in an auto I must say) making progress up the hill when a car comes flying down. Sliding with no stopping them.

So I was forced to do the wrong thing and stop up an incline. Then it began, that slow motion hollywood feeling of helpless panic! Then 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 and CRUNCH! :headbang: :cry: Hit the kerb on bottom of hill at 5mph on a 45 degree angle. Left rear alloy not too bad with a couple of inches gauged out of rim. When that car finally stopped I started again and made it home, no thanks to the other driver.

However, what's making me nervous is all 1,500 kg hitting one point on the wheel in a down and backward movement. Other issues? Suspension damage? Drivetrain damage? :cry:

I won't be able to test drive until tomorrow.

NOOOOO!!!!! I could hear her crying!!! My beautiful 326M is no longer perfect! Boo! :cry:
 
Shame it happened so close to home :cry:

Never mind, get the wheel checked out and repaired and it'll soon be forgotten. Sounds like you were going slowly enough that no impact damage would have occurred to the suspension? Not sure. Probably no worse than a big pothole at 40 or 50mph.
 
other drivers are a menace
I hope and expect that the suspension will be okay.

was it the rebok stadium road?
I have been sideways on that one too.
 
Feel for you, that absolutely gut wrenching feeling of not being in control and waiting for the bang. I would echo Tim though, invest in a set of 17" winter wheels you won't believe the difference.
