Z4 sdrive35i DCT for sale £17950 - only 22500m

Nice car. Its quite strong money you're asking though, despite the mileage. GLWTS, I'll be interested to know how you get on.

Actually, now I've nearly finished fettling the car's minor visual shortcomings I no longer feel the urge to sell it even though I need to be pulled out of it :( The car has addictive qualities (despite the run-flats) that bring back memories of my Lotus Elan +2 in the '60's which saved my bacon with a twitch on the wheel more than once. I miss those post war La Dolce-Vita days when the roads were a race track and we all wished we'd been Spitfire pilots so the death rate didn't register as a problem! Lost 3 friends on the Saturday night return Harrogate - Ilkley run. Old boy's tales but life was different in the 50's.

Sorry about that but it all suddenly came flooding back.

Maniac what's a smart top - looks the same as mine?

Hi re getting in and out of the Zed my wife and i move the seat back to get out of the car ive got dodgy knees and my wife had a new hip and a back op last year , if we had elec seats that may have proved difficult but it would not have stopped us getting one we grab the windscreen piller ,it helps

i also had a 1972 lotus elan S130 ,replacement lotus chassis , new interior :driving: , sold it to get married , occasionally drop into Paul Matty sports cars , i always regret not having a sprint DHC :( :(

Hi Dicky,I fitted a disabled grab handle to the garage wall to pull myself out but as the door will only half open in the garage the knees still have to twist. The Lotus was a great drive but always needed someone following to pick up the pieces. Never went for more than 500 miles without blowing a valve - remember staggering into Italy on 2.5 cylinders. Same happened on the way back. Lotus never sorted it. Only car I ever sold at a profit as built it from a tax free kit! The serious road racing in the 50's was in my father's Alvis 3 litre TC21 or something . had tweaks such as Servais silencers (=open exhausts) and carb rams..sounded much like a D-type - could be heard from 5 miles. Those were the days.I still like a car that sings to you.

Getting a little despondent. Cannot believe no takers for the car which is close to concourse condition. Tempted to barn it and leave it to my kids to sell it though would swap for bmw 120i M-sport auto, Cooper-s auto or similar.

I agree with Maniac, wait just 6 weeks and get into May and you'll be getting more money, moron dealers too.

I am bummed I don't start driving until July 20th, that's half the summer gone and the longest day passed already!!

I must assume your natty wheels were turning like turbines to undeserve (I assume) a ban :o

Times change. The night I passed my finals in Medicine back in 64 I was driving my £60 BMW 501 back home when I was stopped by a policeman, opened the door, fell out and said 'Oops, I'm a Doctor now'. I was asked to open the boot which did not turn out contain the stolen sheep he was looking for so he sent me on my way. I'm sure I stayed in first gear for a couple of miles!

I have had the top down here for the past few weeks - very refreshing at 7.0 C until it rains assuming proper clothing and a cap.

To put a downer on it and you didn't know for sure so don't feel bad, I had a seizure and DVLA won't let me drive for 6 months! :|

But truth be told and many will agree, I should have been banned many times over the years with my heavy right foot!!!

I had no idea. By seizure, I assume you mean a stroke? I had one a couple of years ago, went through the ban, then went for an advanced driving assessment which I passed using a manual gearbox with my dodgy left hand. Have to say that my left side judgement makes me nervous with cars lining the left road so I keep my distance and claim the possibility of a door opening which once actually happened an eon ago. The stroke ruined my golf - went from 8 to 48 overnight but still we press on with the golf holidays and annoy people who are forced to play with us!

I must conclude that there was little more satisfying than a road race across Yorkshire in the 'good old days' which is why I am not trading my car in for a Goggomobile. In fact, I have decided a 135i would be preferable to the Cooper-s I had in mind.

Keep taking the tablets,

David

Sorry to hear about your stroke and thankful, and yes I can say that, mine wasn't as bad as yours. I had an epileptic fit which left me with bilateral broken shoulders and arms.....and the DVLA either ask you to surrender your licence or they can take it off you. So I sent it back the first day out of hospital and providing I don't have any repeat issues, in 6 months from the incident (Jan 20th) I can have my licence back.

This was a day where a lot of things went wrong believe me and my whole life fell apart and I'm not joking....car, job, home life, family.....all fell apart.

Sooooo.....as I've said a few times on here you lucky feckers, enjoy everything what you have, as life's too short!!

I had a Cooper S (which has now gone) the new model and it was a great car and I will miss it.

Hell fire, did you fall off a cliff as a result? I didn't break anything but made the mistake of putting down the initial slurred speech to a bottle of 60% malt whisky my son had donated for my birthday so went to bed and woke up to reality in the morning which was too late for the clot zappers. Annoying. They suspect Alfonso had a similar thing but tests didn't show anything as is often the case. I suspect you will drive mostly slower when you're back. These things put life in perspective in my experience.

Found this on on Ebay http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/281623706188 - seller offered me it (stripes removed) + £3500 for mine but will wait awhile. Is the new 2 litre hugely better than the 1.6.
