My wife and I have brought a z4 2.5 sdrive.

We love it so much that the only let down is the car stereo... :c)

is it possible to change this???

Very nice, welcome to the forum. Have you just lit up the rear tyres when that picture was taken?! My money is that is a multi storey car park...any mods planned?!

mau&helz4, welcome to the forum, and congratulations on your purchase

Unfortunately I drive the previous model so cannot help with your stereo question... Though from what I have read on here BMW don't make changing stereos easy. Someone with an e89 will be along with some advice soon hopefully.

Hello, Welcome!

Classy car you have!

Do you have speakers behind your seats? ( trying to establish which setup you have )

P.S. When you let loose your right foot, you wont want the Stereo On, as your straight 6 will make all the right noises.

The only real solutions is adding an aftermarket amp and fitting new speakers. Standard setup is 4 x 25 Watts through six speakers, giving about 87 dB maximum. The two speakers at the back add base but they are limited in volume so do not put the fader to far back. There is a topic on the best settings of the standard head unit.

One of the main reasons I sold my car was the stereo, absolutely rubbish, you get better sound in a Fiesta

edit......sorry hello and welcome :D

Welcome to the forum, mau&helz4 - have a look at this thread to get some ideas, but short answer is you can upgrade it, depends how much you want to spend :)

thank you all for such a nice welcome.... the car was taken in a car park, I wish my garage is that big. The sound of the engine is enough, it sound wonderful when you put your right foot down. but can't keep doing that. lol

The stereo is the only issue, not to mention the front is so long, takes time in getting use too.

I love the car, I love my soft tops (I use to have MGTF..) but when winter comes, it takes time and effort to put the Hard Top on. Where this new car suits me just fine. When its sunny, push the button and Lord Behold... we have a different car. When its raining or cold, push the button, we have another car. its like have two cars in one. its an Autobot!!! lol

The Stereo isn't a big problem, it does the job, but one would like a nicer stereo to go with the car.... if you know what i mean.

oh, there are speaker behind the seats...
