Sam, this is for the Z4, the X3's have a different body, in case you want to update you advert.

Indeed ... all the screens that you emailed me in the past were always X3 screens which I mentioned to you that they would not work, remember?

My bad, I have literally just copied the advert off the guy I bought it from...... sold the z4 so although I eventually managed to get it all up and running I never actually cut the hole in the dash and fitted it to the car..... it was the computer that was the problem btw pvr..... mkIII defo seems not to work whereas MKIV does.....

I finally fitted mine two weeks ago using the headunit I bought from you, didnt need the dodgy one from PVR :poke:

Just bought a ULF so will also use the Blueooth loom I bought from you in the next couple of weeks.

Glad you got it all up and running ok!

The bluetooth is a good feature aswell, I got that fully working in mine, however pound for pound not nearly as good as the Sat Nav.

Voice commands are a novel toy though, just a shame you cant do more operations with them.

Also as a matter of interest even if you get a screen from another model and adapt it to fit then lilely it will not display correctly. I seems that bordmonitors are built to display at a very specific angle so if the angle of the screen as viewed by the driver is different to the designated application the screen will likely appear very dark.

Think of it like tipping oyur laptop screen up or down just a few degrees.

I am not sure where this X3/Z4 combo for the screen originates from as I have seen loads of those on eBay. Some other users have bought the X3 screen, and it works fine, however the lip at the front is sitting on top of the silver dash instead of against it, not the nicest fit.

Not heard about the angle issue on that though, just a fitting issue.

This is the result of that one (not done by me I hasten to add):

I looks as if the X3 screens rotate back beyond vertical on the Z4, dont think the Z4 Screens do, personally would stick to Z4 screen

The research I refer to was a somewhat technical article related to X5's (even down to stripping down the the LCD panet to tune 3 resistors for brightness, contract, colour, etc.) where the screen is at a fixed angle and to some extent this can be overcome on Z4's by using the buttons to the side of the screen to adjust it.

Seeing your illustration of the X3 fitting I can see no reason to get that even if they were more common and or cheaper.
