I notice a lot of Z4 coupe owners looking over when ever my roofs down and I'm driving past. They always look very down and miserable maybe its the heat I don't know. You often hear remarks like its not sunny enough in UK to warrant needing a convertible etc. Usaully by other motorist maybe who never owned a convertible before. I really do like both types of model but owning Mazda MX5 and E46 convertibles before my Z4 they offer very special driving experiences. Those motorway journeys to and from work roof down either early morning or late evening being one of them. I can only imagine what's its like to have a roadster living in a climate where its constantly hot.

Here's a few of my old girl, lets see them pics of those convertibles.......

You won't ever see me miserable in my coupe, I can assure you of that! My air con works fine
I made a choice for the coupe, as nice as the convertible is, they aren't for everyone, and I never regret my choice.

I really wanted a coupe but just couldn't afford one when i brought my roadster. But having a roadster with a broken roof for 5 months made me miserable. Now its fixed i wouldn't change my car now a coupe. That being said if i had the chance to build myself a track car i would be choosing a z4c as a base.

This was quite good fun. You can hear Mrs Monkey giggling in the back ground.

Not bad is it for a DIY home made effort. I even made the silencers from scratch. I am tighter than a camels ass in a sand storm

AC does come in handy for those times you want to stay fresh there has been times id get changed and 1hr later id be a sweaty mess again all because I wanted the roof down. I used to get a lot of stick on bimmerforums many years ago for owning a convertible from coupe drivers. Scuttle shake, its heavier so must be slower, its a girls car and its for posing not driving etc all the usual stereotypes. Over recent years maybe last 3-4 yrs they seem more sought after now. My next car will most certainly be another convertible I've been looking at E46 M3/ E93 330/335i or 645i verts to replace my Z4. The longest car I've actually owned was my E46 330 vert for 5yrs was a great family car.

I'd of probably just disconnected the pump and used the roof manually works well enough for mk1 TT's and Mx5's etc

How gay is this thread!?!?!

Willy waving you chose to get a droptop and therefore everyone else must be miserable. What a load of garbage. :dizzy:

  Ah come on lighten up. We are always hearing how exclusive the coupe is. Let us have this thread to make us feel better.

After all the convertibles are so common

It's a light hearted thread I've driven convertibles for many years now and always notice the same comparison between both coupe/convertible models when driving past having owned both. The point was more the fact coupe owners love watching convertibles drive past. Maybe their just thinking that's a nice motor, I think its more curiosity of never experiencing driving top down. When I had my coupe I was sure miserable every time a seen another convertible on a nice day. I used to wind my windows down but its really no comparison to looking out to an open sky above. Previous owners will know why and those who were never brave enough to brush the stereotypes aside can only imagine what's its like I suppose. It's ok they see me rollin I see them hating.......
