Thanks

(it was only an insistant Scotsman bouncing it onto my radar that I managed to get at the head of the queue - would have missed it otherwise)

He is very much an annoyance, I completely understand why you did it :poke:

Good job with the purchase,Tim.
Looks a lovely z4, and we'll priced,with sensible/low mileage and good spec.
Very nice colour combo, the Grey and Red makes, enjoy

Yes,some folk can be very persuasive,or Just the forum in general, can often make you spend your money on things you hadn't planned to,lol.

Just look at Andy, he's been influenced into buying two e89s and then a G29, in around 18 months, by spending as much time on the forum as Bing used to a few years ago, haha.

It can be addictive,lol :driving:

Cheers Craig, yes pretty chuffed with it - I've generally been steering clear of the red interiors but it looks quite nice in the flesh, and there generally needs to be a compromise here and there when the right car comes along.

Consigned to the garage unfortunately until my current one sells :headbang:

You’re welcome

I’m surprised you other one hasn’t sold, well spec’d and maintained car. I it on Gumtree and FB too?

Couple of offers so far, just a bit too low - people (quite rightly) expect to be knocking a chunk of money off an advertised price, is the drawback of going in with what you'd consider a fair price from the start. No hurry though, will give it a few weeks before decreasing.

On FB, Ebay and Autotrader - tend to avoid Gumtree these days as it just generates spam.

I may get the exhaust put back to standard (to sell on) and remove the MMI box, which will drop the price a chunk - the MMI is a no brainer really as I fully intend to install one on the new car, I've just been to lazy to go through the trouble of uninstalling the thing (though with some decent weather coming up, I probably will).

That’s the problem when you price a car fairly, people still expect the big discount. I’m surprised that there hasn’t been more interest on here as folk know in detail the work and effort that’s gone into it.

Re the exhaust, 100% agree and an easy sell on, particularly to the 23i group looking for a bit more noise. The MMI box, I think that is a great selling point as in someone buying a 10 year old car knows it’s up to date with new technology and their latest/newest phone will work with it so I’d be leaving that in and buying a new one for the 35.

All IMO of course

Sage advice as always Andy, thanks.

I think you're probably right on the MMI box - it doesn't help my thought process that the prices from AliExpress have jumped up a fair bit since I bought it last December.

I definitely agree with this. I've just been doing some man maths to try and justify buying your car having just bought a E85 3.0 (and I've now realised spending ~ÂŁ3k to get it where I want it) a couple of months ago. I can't justify it unfortunately, but having Apple CarPlay already installed made your car stand out. GLWS.

Appreciate the feedback, thanks - I thought it was a selling point (which is why I've stuck it in all the titles wherever it's advertised) so I'll leave it installed following this discussion.

Cheers all

(having just spoke to a chap who viewed it the first weekend I had it for sale, his wife didn't like the exhaust - now booked in for removal)

Do you think it’ll rekindle his interest going back to stock exhaust?
