Z4 Roadster 3.0Si - 26k miles

It has good spec and looks mint bar the additional M badges.

Although the car is low mileage, I think the asking price is quite steep. I personally wouldn’t pay anymore than £9,000 for that motor.

If and when you test drive, make sure you check the tyres for both brand and wear, check the discs and pads and even check to see whether there is play in the bushes. The car is 12 years old, and although it comes with a full service history, you may have to spend more on some of these parts as they’re less likely to have been changed due to its low mileage.

Good luck

Isn’t that place a few independent dealers all trading under one roof/brand ?

Yes it is.

Thought so

Yes it is but does have a bit of a poor rep but then again so does the Williams Bmw/Mini dealership across the road and the Porsche one next to it for that matter! Only thing I'd use either of them for would be a test drive or parts.
It's hard to know with the individual "one man band " dealer setup inside Boc who is bad and who is good (if any!) Especially as tenants in there come and go. To be fair the Bolton one does seem to have a better rep than the Boc near Bca on Hyde Rd manchester. That's not saying much though, ive heard some real horror stories about that place!

Due to the nature of the place I think you just have to have a look at it, unless of course you can find reviews of that individual trader within Boc rather than Boc in general and that's enough to put you off.

Might also be worth finding a slip road somewhere and giving it a good old Italian-tune up once she warms up on your test drive.

Nah, if you keep the miles down on that car it will only appreciate in value. It has 'good investment' written all over it.

I agree that low mileage cars hold value, but keeping them at that low mileage isn’t easy, especially when you only have one car.

When I bought my car it had 30,000 miles on it. In 6 months I’ve done 5,000 already and am due for a 2,000 mile roadtrip in May. I will probably hit the 40,000 mile mark before 1 years ownership.

If the OP isn’t going to use it much then fair enough, but if it’s his only car I would get something with slightly higher miles but at a cheaper price.

I suppose it depends how long your daily commute is (if you use public transport etc etc). I really only use my Z in anger at the weekends and for the occasional blast across the Yorkshire Dales so my mileage tends to be 3-4K p.a. so you are right in that as an investment it needs that kind of ownership.

I don’t even use my car to commute

It’s gotten so bad, that I reset my mileage counter to check how many miles I am doing per week.

Hi everyone. Love the look of this - any opinions on price, spec or anything else please? Also, what are the alloys? Apologies in advance for my ignorance.

That car is E3 MCK

Here's E3 NCK

Coincidence?

Something wrong with your eyes?

Not at all. Unusual to see two cars with one letter of a difference in the REG up for sale at the same time.

Was meaning this one....

The correct link makes more sense of your post now

I've run an Experian check which is clear although it shows that the current reg was changed from another private plate, RLZ7818, on 10/4/2008. Is there anything I need to be considering and digging deeper about?

Do you mean digging deeper regarding the change of plate? If so, there nothing to be concerned about there.

I was just perturbed that people seemed to be suggesting there could be something untoward about the fact there are 2 cars with such close registrations on the market - was wondering if i needed to dig deeper about the car's history and if so, if anyone could offer any advice as to what they would do.

Use the No. plate to get MOT history etc here: https://www.gov.uk/checks-when-buying-a-used-car

Drove down from Durham a few years ago to boc Bolton looking at kingfisher blue tt said it hadn’t been involved to his knowledge any accident but as I lifted the bonnet on test drive all plastic seemed brand new not just cleaned back in showrooms tried to contact previous keepers didn’t reply then said that they’re going to get her again no one rang back
Rang next day geezer was playing golf said I was a time waster in so many words I’d only spent the day getting there and back
Needless to say owner never rang me I didn’t ring them back again

I posted the links to the two cars with the similar REG plates.

Personally I couldn't care whether it was private plates, Irish plates, dealer plates or anything else on the car. The reason for that is I already have a Z4, not looking for another one at the moment however I felt that it was worthy of a reply in case there was something in it that you, the potential buyer, might need to be aware of.

The two REG plates are possibly just a harmless coincidence that they lettering is close to each other or perhaps there's something in it? Is it the same person selling two cars?

Two cars, 50 miles apart, next consecutive number plate, both on Z4's, both for sale at the same time even though the Silver 2.5 SI advert does say that the original plate is back on that car.

It's your money not mine but I'd certainly hope you spend the time and money on....

DVLA check. Give them a phone about REG changes, take a note of the changes and make sure the MOT's with the car all match the REG and mileage.
MOT History check - PASS / FAIL and everything fixed that should have been fixed. Check there's receipts that match up to work done.
HPI check
RAC / AA Check - Accurate valuation and health check.

After that it's up to you!

Looks like a nice car bud  it’s only 5 mins from my work so if you’re interested in buying it and want me to take a look over it before you travel over just let me know pal  :D

A big thank you to bigosean for your help in taking a look at this car with me and for everyone else's input for that matter. A great set of people on this forum. A lovely looking car but there were some signs of damage repair which my untrained eye would not have picked up on. Therefore walked away and got my deposit back.
