After a shockingly short period of time (36K miles!!) I've got to replace all 4 discs and pads on the car. Wanting to get some better performance (found the standard items a bit lacking at times) but not being able to break the bank (brake the bank?! anyone... no.. ok!) and go for the full AP/Brembo big brake kit route i opt'd for standard size discs but grooved and heat treated and EBC yellow-stuff pads in the standard callipers.
The problem is the rear discs supplied do not fit. They turn out to be E46 discs not E85 specific ones (the difference being a deeper bell-housing). According to the supplier he can't find anyone that actually stocks the right size rear disc other than BMW and that this would cost a lot more than what i've already paid despite negotiating with them.
Has anyone had this problem before and what did you do about it? I'm now looking at another £100+ bill on top of what i've already paid!!
