Finish an E85 Z4 Soft Top Motor Relocation (Winston-Salem, NC)
I am looking for an E85 Z4 veteran who knows exactly how to defeat the infamous soft-top motor well. I started the trunk-access motor relocation on my 2007 Z4, but I've hit a wall and ended up with an injury trying to fight it.
The Current State: The hydraulic pump is unplugged and pulled out of the plastic housing. However, the bottom half of the plastic container is completely seized in the well, trapping the hydraulic lines.
The Job:
Free the seized plastic housing without snapping the lines.
Pull the assembly/lines into the trunk.
Reconnect the power and verify the CVM module recognizes it.
Ensure the top goes up and down
The Catch (Read Carefully):
I am recovering from an injury and am under strict doctor's orders to avoid all physical strain. You must bring your own tools and do 100% of the physical labor. I will not be bending into the trunk, pulling, or assisting with the heavy lifting. I will simply open the garage for you, stay out of your way, and hand you the cash when the job is done.
