https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BMW-Z4-2005-2-2-si-58k-miles-Maldives-blue-4x-new-tyres/124601773773 Following on my last failure to buy a blue Z, this one has popped up. Has an Ebay buy-back guarantee, no accident history. What do you think, worth a shot?

Small wheels, no steering wheel controls, no folding mirrors.
Does look in nice condition though.

Wheels can be sorted. Does any one actually use folding mirrors?

Looks a decent example on the face of it. :)

Yes wheels can be sorted but at a fair cost. Folding mirrors are still desirable whether used or not (for some reason!!)

Still a 6-cyl. As said, the wheels can be sorted, although they don't look that bad and possibly give a more comfortable ride.
Folding mirrors? I guess if you had a tight parking spot or narrow garage you may fold them, but it's not exactly difficult to do it by hand.
I looked into swapping to a MFSW on wifey's car, but tbh, it doesn't do a huge amount and I think the wheel is cleaner looking without the chunky buttons.
There is certainly nothing standing out on that car that would put me off.
A proper look through the history would confirm more.

Well there's no such thing as a 2.2si of course but looks like a nice clean example to me and super mileage - the wheels are easily sorted. Doesn't have msport seats but at least they are heated. It's a far better proposition that the 4-pot, even though it's only 0.5sec quicker to 60.

Not exactly a comprehensive for sale ad though!

I agree. I tend to steer clear of people who sell cars on eBay and give such a weak description. If someone wants their car to sell at a good price, put a good description with all the relevant details a buyer would expect to see.

Might be worth a message to see what they come back with.

I sent a message to someone with a similar ad asking a number of reasonable questions and got back "it is wat it is m8" back as a reply.
Obviously a born salesman

Looks good to me and Maldives Blue polishes up a treat. Much more forgiving than Monaco! I like those wheels, but if you didn’t, it’s definitely worth keeping them as a second set for winter tyres.

Thanks for all your helpful replies. Have been in contact with him and he is rather economical with words. However, I do love the colour and the car has ebay buyer protection along with paypal. In any normal circumstances I would go off to see it, but I have to spend money on inspection and transportation cost which bumps up the price a bit.

He did not sell it but withdrew it as he wants to sell it for more money in June! eBay guarantee is where you either do not get the goods or they are damaged. You raise a case and they investigate it apparently. Also, payment was to be with Paypal so I had it covered.
