Ok, well that's a little misleading, I have yet to pick up a chick solely on the car (course I've hardly been stopped long enough to do that anyways :driving: )
So anyways long story short, I had to leave town on a jetplane. Instead of leaving my car in my apartment complex where it has a real high risk of getting stolen or dinged, I left it on base where I work. At least if it receives dings there someone will own up. Well, my best friend brought a girl to work (read ladies man) to show her where he worked. She saw the car and apparently talked about it for the next 2 days he said and wants to meet me.

So he said thanks for stealin his chick in a message to me. I'm not concerned he damn near picks one up every day of the week.

I've had a lot of looks and comments with the car, all of them good.

Any other similiar occurances on ya'lls end with the car?

I brought a friends wife for a spin once to showoff the car and she commented the car was sexy.

That's enough evidence for me that this car must be great for picking up the ladies. :-)
That is, the ones who does not get scared by it  (I've had that happen too)

All positive comments from the ladies.

Current girlfriend loves it. Had her screaming in it the other day, she doesnt like it when I go fast!!!! :D

Funny, I saw three Z4s yesterday, which is a record for me. All driven by women. I finally realized that i DO have a chick car.

One did give me a wave and a real nice smile.

I am on the road a lot in Southern California (for work) and I would say that about 75% of the Z4's I see are being driven by women!

And, if the membership of this forum is to be considered representative, they're all lookers!

Mrs F finds she gets lots of compliments when out and about in the Z. I don't seem to get so many!

She also gets let in by other drivers, whereas I will have to wait ages before I can change lane in heavy traffic.

I think having long blonde hair might have something to do with it. Maybe I should grow and bleach mine!

I think that's the case with just about any car so long as a woman is driving. I get just as much courtesy in my truck with respect to being let in etc., as I do in the Z. I will get comments of course on the Z more, but people are very, very nice for the most part I have to say. Hmm, must be my sparkling personality :D
On a different note, I have seen more men driving Mini's as opposed to Z's. Particularly when it comes to sports/sporty cars, I don't think it's fair to label one either primarily a boy or primarily a girl. I appreciate a car for what it is, not the person driving it. Although I do think men get an unfair assumption that they're all jackasses if they drive a nice sports car. Particularly if it's in the higher-end: BMW; Mercedes; Porsche etc. As long as you enjoy it and it's what you want, that's what matters :)

Yeah, it's funny how that goes....
I get a real kick from watching someones face when I wave them in.
The look is priceless... ":o WTF a guy in a Bimmer just let me in :o :scratchhead: "

I also do that quite a bit and you can see the look of shock that someone in a Bimmer let them in...

X3. I guess I'm not a "typical snooty sports car driver." I figure that if we're nice (yet assertive) enough to keep the flow of traffic moving, then all will be happy. I'd hate to be the ass who doesn't let a driver in only to find out they squeezed in behind me. Tailgate central, yo! :o

not that i have official stats on this, but most Z4s i see up here in Ontario Canada are driven by men, i find the ladies aren't into buying roadsters, probably because you can't drive them 12 months a year and they just want an all year round car ...

but i would guess that of all the ladies in ontario who do drive a bimmer, 90% drive a 3 series

oh and to answer the pt of the thread ...

yes, TONNES of looks, although I've been fortunate enough to own nice cars in the past as well and am used to it, for sure this car attracts attention!!! ladies and guys are quick to compliment

the latest one was yesterday and had already walked about 50 paces from my car and was entering the store and the guy at the door said "nice car" and was like "thanks", didn't even think he could see the car from where he was

previously owned a 3 series coupe with M body kit and that got a lot of positive comments as well

the specific comment "sexy" has come up on many occasions as well

I had a women pull up next to me at a red light, leaned over and told me what a nice car I had. A ton of male and female compliments on the car, one women said "it looks like the car in the James Bond movie". I had to tell her that was an aston martin though, not sure how that got confused.

The thing that is mentioned almost every time though is how good the wheels look. I put the 19" M6 alloys on the zed :).

Luckily, where I live you rarely see any Z4's which adds to its prestige.

not sure how to say this but is usually 10 year old boys that shout "nice car mister" as I go by :o

where i'm from is kinda like Mark in that Z4s are kinda rare and

when i answer those who ask what car i drive (i normally just answer "Z4"), car enthusiast will know what car it is, other are like "what?"

then i find the answer that really let's them get a picture in their head is when i ask them "remember the little blue bmw roadster from the James Bond movie" and especially if they are female, they respond "OH YAH, I LOVE THAT CAR" ... of course that was a Z3 (from GoldenEye) and the Z4 is the next gen of that car, which allows them to understand what i drive

some have mistaken and were thinking of the Z8

so Mark, if you are wondering how it got confused, maybe that's why

hahaha, muppet, please don't go "micheal jackson" on us :P

I get compliments but my wife gets tons of compliments when she's driving.
One day we met in two different cars at the beach. She was in the Z (with the top down) and I was following in her Murano. Three guys on Harleys started talking to her at one red light. The next one had a bunch of guys on bicycles talking to her. As we were slowly looking for parking spaces she was getting cat calls from all over!
I haven't gotten that kind of attention yet?...? :?
