z4 owners around colchester essex - a favour to ask!

hello all,

I currently have Audi TTRS but i am thinking of jumping to a coupe for a 3.0si vert.

i am 6'3 or so and wanted to have a good sit in one before i sell my audi for sizing and whether i could comfortably drive it.

Is there anyone around the Colchester Essex area who could help me out. I am definitely leaning towards the coupe.

Also is there any seat option i should try to avoid or anything that can be done to give more driver room?

thats good to hear. im fairly broad at around 48" chest are you of a similar build?

44" with wide shoulders, etc. You'll be fine

thanks very much, do you have to have the seat tilt forward to get it further back or anything? also do you have the electric or manual seats?

I've owned both manual and electric seats across a number of Z4s. Both types are fine with plenty of space. Personally I tend to have them all the way down and nearly all the way back (not all the way as they can rub and squeak on the plastic material behind them!)

If you are broad, the M-Sport seats can be a little tight due to the more pronounced side bolsters. I know this because a broad gentleman bought a set of “ordinaries” off me because they were more comfortable for him.

Good call on the microfibre
As for drive, its depends what you're looking for on any particular day. The roadster drives well but due to its nature, it isn't as rigid as the coupe, but gives you more of a dramatic experience hood down. The coupe is just cool and drives really well, without the theatrics of a ragtop.

SE seats are no issue. M seats were good for me, but you may not find the same if you're larger than I am, so I'd defer to Zedebee's note and when you try, try both.

Really, would you chose the coupe and the roadster based on the way they drive?. IMO they are different cars. If you want a cheap and engaging wind-in-the-hair experience, the roadster is for you. If you want the looks and exclusivity then it’s the coupe.

I’ve had both. I’d rather have the coupe parked on the drive, but I’d rather have the roadster to drive, but only when the weather permits the roof to be down.

I was hoping to get a sport so i assume would come with M sport seats? Does the SE come with different bumpers?

All the 3.0Sis are facelift models and had electric seat adjustment with driver's memory as standard.

I think the bumpers, etc. are the same on Sport as SE models. Sport ones had the sought-after M-Sport seats as standard, plus M-sport suspension that is stiffer and 15mm lower, M-Sport steering wheel (thicker rim), anthracite headlining in Coupes and 18" MV2 wheels with split-rim 108s as a cost option. But some SE models had some of the M-Sport bits as options so can be worth a look if they have what you really want.
