So after lots of searching and changing my mind I found this which ticked all the boxes. Has the hard top (I was swaying towards a Coupe but the better half wanted a Roadster), relatively nippy (2.2), well looked after by an enthusiast for the last 10 years, FULL BMWSH from year 1, only OEM parts ever fitted, low mileage at 78K and the right price. Very Happy!

Welcome to Z4 ownership.

They do look good with the hardtop, and at the end of the day happy wife = happy life!

I still prefer Coupes though. :D

Will anyone notice it's not a Coupe when I drive past at 70 + :D

Welcome aboard. Looks cool. If you get fed up of the removable hard top you could always sell it. They fetch about 1k in good nick. :driving:

Ye the fella said they were worth that. It's totally unmarked, as is the soft top. He also gave me the OEM storage bag to hang the hard top on a wall and a cover for the soft top when it's parked up with the hard top off. He also gave me new rear vented discs and pads, a new spare wheel, jack and brace as he's removed the RFT's and put Goodyear F1's on. He's also fitted two cup holders and cruise control, very knowledgeable enthusiast. Wouldn't surprise me if he is a member

Congrats Daz W. Sounds like a very good find, especially with a hard top. That gives you the best of both worlds and the fact it’s been enthusiast owned, that should shine through in its general upkeep and feel. Plus it’s a six cylinder, so you get the good noise.
Here’s to many happy miles of motoring. :driving:

Thank you. Yes it does sound good. What I've found is it needs to be "driven" to get the best out of it, all the power is 3K revs and up

That's a nice looking motor!
Even better when it all warms up and you can get rid of the psuedo-coop look.
You'll be able to hear that 6-cyl beat better too.

Braw looking zed, Daz 👌🏻 hope you have many trouble free miles in it.

The hard top is the compromise, I'd have preferred a Coupe but also wanted benefit of the hood down in the summer (well OK, she did)
