Spent the morning at the dealer, Z4 28i MSport is now ordered. :D

Now comes the longest wait of my life!

Spec is

Deap Sea Blue
Extended Walnut Leather
Fine wood trim
325M Alloys
Comfort Pack
Media Pack
Electric Seats
Lumbar Support
Heated Seats
Sterring Wheel Heating
Professional Loudspeeker System

I've taken the 5 yr service option, but have decline for the moment,

Vehicle Protection (Gard X Protection)
Tyre Insurance
Allow Wheel Insurance
Retail Price Protection
Minor Repair Protection

Any of these worth it and if they are should I be looking elsewhere for alternative cover?

Well done, when are you expecting delivery?

I wouldn't bother with the Gard X Protection, buy some off of eBay or Supaguard and do it yourself, when I had my Alpina Sytner wanted to do me a special on the Supaguard treatment for £300, I saw the in house valeter and he guided me to EBay where I bought the treatment products for about £10 iirc

Get your GAP from somewhere like ALA. far cheaper than the dealer options.

I went for tyre Insurance. Got it for £100 for 3 years

Currently computer says 12th June :o . But as it's a confirmed order the dealer says this will come down, hopefully mid May..... Going to be a long wait :driving:

Nice one Sketchley lets hope we both enjoy them when they arrive the long wait begins hopeing to get mine sometime
in June they started mine in July but like you say it will come down, :D nice spec by the way dont go for the extras wast of money. :driving:

Congrats :) the wait will soon pass,

The Guard X treatment was thrown in as part of the deal when I ordered mine, it could actually prove to be useful as it includes an interior treatment thats guaranteed so if you accidently stain or damage the seats then it will be cleaned or repaired for free. You also get a natty case with the cleaning products,

Agree with whats been said though, I wouldn't pay for it.

Tim.

The only one I'd consider is the tyre insurance. Repalcement run flat 255 35 18s are around £250 upwards and when you consider no one will repair punctures on run flats it can get expensive if you're unlucky

The actual repair process is exactly the same for run flats and none run flat. These reason why virtually no one will repair then is there is concern around the integrity of the side wall after they have been driven when flat. Repairers cant tell how far the vehicle has been driven when flat - they repair the puncture and 2 weeks later the tyre fails - they are concerned that the finger for the failure may be pointed at their repair when it may have been caused by the owner of the car driving more than a few miles when the tyre is flat

Good point had only driven a few miles very carefully before my repair dont think I would do it if had driven a long way having said that a mate of mine drove from Glasgow to Torbay with a flat and tells me he kept his speed down to below 80mph. :o

had my run flat repaired a few weeks ago for £15. it had a nail in it and was causing my tps to flash up. so it was never run at less than 29psi as that is when the tps kicked in

Keep a compressor in the boot cubby hole or next to the battery.. If you puncture, keep it inflated and dont use the runflat facility!

My lci Z4 was originally 2nd week of April. It's been pushed back twice to est. 3rd week of may. I'm on bloody holiday for a month beginning of June. It will be parked up,my kids searching for the keys,I'm petrified! :o

Big reason why people don't repair them either is the frickin effort involved in taking a run flat off, and damaging the alloy as a result, all for a lousy £15 puncture repair....
