What's a bluefash?

Put my name on the list I'd love to come to this.
I've never driven a car on a track but have been go karting a few times and always fancied a go in a car.

It's rumoured they based the Apollo shuttles on blueflash...they tried to match the thrust to weight ratio, but the Apollo missions only managed to beat gravity...

Hmmm I'm guessing that blueflash is the name you gave to a previous car, that or you've actually escaped from a mental asylum?

Possibly both...

But yes mate blueflash was my old 2.0...dispatched of a few ///m's during a Wales z4 meet a few years ago

Wow, so you had a 2.0 and then bought an M?
P.S. We all know that 2 less cylinders makes the car 2 times as fast

copy and paste the list + add your name please guys to keep me updated where were at :-) Seems i won't have any prob getting my 20-25....

A little care is needed as always - I did this venue in a Focus ST3, managed to beat a Lotus Elise 111S but also managed to knacker a front alloy on a track kerb. Cost me a new wheel and a 4 wheel alignment, from memory it was about £400.

Another point worth noting, as previously stated, is your car will need a rest. Our Focus ST3 was a year old / 9,000 miles only but went into limp mode twice, needing switching off and resting! Then I cut a kerb before the final bend and it hit that hard the caliper rubbed on the wheel flat!!

Saying that, it was HUGE fun, almost worth the money to beat a Lotus 111S in a Ford Focus

Well recommended but do be sensible....

jesus never cut curbs ANYWHERE imo.... i keep well away imo.... but yes.... your car will need a rest so theirs plenty of time for us all to get runs, these technical sprint tracks are hard on brakes and oil temps rise quickly, however i like to see those temps rising and falling anyway, its good to get the systems working to their full capacity, i usually do 3-4 bunches of laps, after the 4th run the rotors are glowing red by the time i enter the paddock, the supercharger is untouchable by my hand too.

Would be on for it, but highly date dependent, really needs to be Mon-Weds for me to have a chance of making it.

it seems this really could happen, 2 days and serious interest!!!

Tertius, i EXPECT you to be their as your a track warrior!! lmao!

Just a quick question to you guys that know a thing or two about track time. I have a standard car (engine) I have coil overs and will be asking lots of set up questions on the day (apologies in advance) What concerns me a little is that i have only ever heard bad things about the braking performance. I have m-tech grooved disks I will be aiming to add braided lines front and rear before this happens. So will obviously be changing the fluid at the same time. What fluid shall i get? I will also probably be sticking new pads on the front any recommendations?????

Fluid: any of the good quality Dot 4 fluids - Motul RBF, Castrol SRF (expensive) or ATE Super - will be fine. I use Motul as I got a full case cheaply.

Pads: not sure what options there are for the standard brakes, but I have had good results (on other cars) with Ferodo DS 2500 which are probably available and the "regular" Pagid OEM-spec road pads, which are remarkably cheap and good.

For more track focused stuff I have used: Carbone Lorraine RC5+ and 6, Pagid RS (14, 4-2 and 29), Performance Friction PF97. My personal favourite is Pagid RS range. I currently run 29 of the front and the slighter softer 4-2 on the rear.

Thanks tertius i will have a Google search at lunch. I am after a set of pads for just track time. I dont mind swapping them back and forth. I put new discs and pads on all round about 3k miles ago so they should be ok but there is not great bite and so i was think better track focused pads would help.
