There's a VW Golf mk 6 on Land Rover alloys in my company car park that looks amazing - Could be an emerging trend !!

I wouldn't be comfortable with 10" width on rears and 9" on fronts. There is a reason why BMW don't go that wide it is because they will do extensive dynamic clearance measurements in CAD to work out minimum worse case clearance under worst case conditions ie the limits of movement of all parts under worse case driving forces. If they deemed it safe to fit these widths they would have offered them at a premium price to make more money. The only checks we enthusiasts can make are static measurements combined with drive it around and see if anything rubs. This doesn't take into account worst case conditions and any attempts to make checks under worst case conditions could be dangerous.

Would these sizes be ok on an se roadster? My arse is making buttons here trying to decide on tyre sizes the car is on stock suspension just now but will be on coilovers soon.
