Hi i was wondering if a z4 3.0 can handle a doughnut lpi tank (place of the reserve wheel). What are your experiences. how many km/miles can you drive on one tank etc etc. :driving:
Thanx!

There is no reserve wheel fitted to a z4? Depends massively on how you drive but between 3/400 miles on a tank should be possible

What reserve wheel?

Made me laugh
If you don't ask you don't know. Op only asked.
Welcome to the forum. :)

Did make me laugh though.

Yes I totally agree, there is no such thing as a stupid question. Hope this (lack of under boot space) doesn’t put you off OP. E85 or E86 are both lovely cars!

personally i don't see the point in LPG for the z4, 30mpg is easy to live with

I've read a bit into this - more by happenstance whilst looking at other models to LPG than the Z4. From what I've seen though the 3 Litre BMW lump isn't particularly happy on it, and quite a few people have reported inconsistent running even after they've taken it to specialists. It's worth looking up what's happened to people who run similar aged 530i's or 330i's on gas and seeing what they say, as the conversion will be much more common on these cars.

Worth mentioning that you'll get lower MPG on LPG, but the fuel is cheaper so makes up for it and so on. Interestingly enough you also will not be able to take the car on the chunnel.

I've not seen anything for the N52 motor - so do your research if looking for an SI.

Generally speaking though, MPG on these is pretty good when running on petrol. I've no idea how that's the case, but I daily drive my 3.0Si in bad rush hour traffic and the average sits at 29.7 MPG.

I can't see the point of running a Z4 on LPG - even the 3 litres are pretty economical for a car with that size of engine. And they're supposed to be about fun - if economy is the main focus you might as well get a 330d, or 320d!

My E86 doesn't need to go out in the rush hour thankfully, so the OBC is showing an average of 33.6 mpg at present. That seems cheap as chips to me for the performance.

It would take an awful long time to cover the cost of any conversion!

when I was searching for a Coupe, 1 out of 6-7 Coupes I actually saw up close, had LPI fitted on the boot.
Was a daily so I won't judge.
On 2nd thought, I will..just don't do it.
