Z4 Newbie and lovin it!!!!

Hi folks,

Thought I'd post as a newbie and say Hi to all! Had my Z4 now for one week n lovin it to bits!! Just a lil bout me: located in central Scotland (which means roof might not be down much lol) Car is a 3.0 SE with pds electric seats heated seats folding mirrors xenons and type 108 wheels, if you're interested at all. I am looking for some advice tho! Wheels are kinda corroded, anyone know anywhere in central scotland that can refurb at a decent cost? Or anyone selling a used set in good condition??

A week is far long enough, i took pictures the same day i got mine :P
 
Welcome, I see what you mean about the wheels, you need to get them sorted quickly otherwise you will gie the Z4 a bad name :poke:

Mine's down as often as I can - if it's not raining then it's down. Actually, that isn't that often thinking about our weather lol. That's another Z4 in Central Scotland - and identical to mine too regarding colour/wheels too, gutted! Whereabouts are you? I'm Stirling/Falkirk, but I always keep a lookout.

If you're Glasgow-based, then ESP Powdercoating did a good job on my mate's wheels and have a good rep. There's another place local to me in Falkirk (Williams Powdercoating, next to Sounds Of Silence) who I used to powdercoat my previous car's wheels and I was happy with the result. He'll be doing my 108s sometime in the next 6 months when I can be bothered attempting to split them myself.

UPDATE!!!!

Rims booked in for a refurb on fri. Found a place in Stirling called Valet-tech at Springkerse. They're going to split, shotblast and do a 3 stage wet paint/lacquer finish in hyper silver for me for £75 a rim. Should have the car back sat afternoon. Will post some pics once i have it back.

I'm VERY interested to hear back the results of this - let us know how you get on :thumbsup:

Any idea how long they want the wheels for to complete the process? And do they remove/refit the tyres for you too?

The guy there said 2 days typically, but I'm dropping car off on thurs night and he reckoned it would be ready for collection on sat afternoon. I assume they will remove/refit tyres as i dont fancy them gettin baked with the wheels, but wont be there to witness the process :(

I'll get pics as soon as i get car back, They did show me examples of their work they do powder coating also, but the hyper silver looked like it would be a better finish.
