Z4 Multi-Function Button Retrofit Kit

"Encode/program the retrofit using DISPlus or GT-1 via path Retrofit/CIP"

I take it that even if I do this myself, I still need to take it to the dealer for this last step?

I installed a MFSW on my 03' 2.5i and NO coding was required. It simply works. Install MFSW buttons, order (2) connectors p/n 61-13-0-005-197 at around $1.50 each then install these connectors in the green plug behind the steering wheel on the bottom rear of the wheel area. Install one into pin 10 and one into pin 9 as they are both empty. Then run the wire from pin 10 to the power wire on the radio, then from pin 9 to pin 9 on the radio which is the K-Bus. Turn on the radio and viola.... you now have a MFSW.... Keep an eye on eBay, I found my whole MFSW on there for $65 and that made this a very cheap upgrade! Enjoy....

I also installed this retrofit button kit on my 2003 3.0I with navigation and it did not need programming. As soon as the car was turned on the buttons began to work. The navigation itself needed reprogramming. Hope this helps.

Was there any issue with the airbag? Is it difficult to deactivate/reactivate? I'd like to do it myself but that has me a bit worried.

I hope this is what you were looking for.

This link didn't work for me... It may be my system. Would you (or someone) email this file to me: <email_stripped>?

EDIT [Sp3ctre]: I took away the email address from public view as it will be grabbed by spam bots. It seems the email has now been sent, but if anyone still needs it then simply PM Ale_72

No problem.
I just need your email address :)

PS if you have a better place where to host it I can upload it right now or, if you can tell me where to find a freeware PDF to JPG converter, I'll upload it into the DIY area.

Here it is (PDF995 is great):

According to BMW intructions, connectors from green plug needs to be connected to plug behind intrument cluster (plug X12!). But you have connected to wires behind the radio, have I got this right? if so, your ways seems easier!
