Z4 manual driving position

Hi all, just wondering if the z4 manual has an offset driving position to the pedals?

I had a 125i manual and found there was quite an offset between the seat and pedals, I also read this in a few places online - apparently this isn’t the case with the auto, think I also read the same about the 130i.

Where are you?
Find someone close by and ask to sit in theirs.
We can say yes, no, give exact measurements, but until you see how it feels you'll never be sure.
FWIW I find it pretty straight.

I’ve gone from manual to auto and didn’t find either to be particularly offset. I’m pretty sure the loud pedal is in the same place on both.

me too, the Boxster of the same era is massivley offset due to the fusebox as you get in the drivers door

I go from a transit to a Focus to my e85 on a regular basis, all manuals and I can't say I've noticed. Perhaps some folk are more sensitive to these things than others

E85/86 feels pretty straight to me, but then I’ve driven lots of cars with different pedal angles and always seem to be able to switch my brain pretty quickly to whatever the setup is.

I’m in twickenham…

On my 125i is was awkward and painful sometimes, I have a dodgy back so maybe that’s part of it… old glimmer etc…

Not noticed it is offset, certainly not compared to some 4WD stuf like the R8.

cant say i ever thought my R8 had offset pedals either to be honest! Maybe i am just a contortionist

The pedals are offset to the right ..... definitely. Anyone thats got an aftermarket seat and tried to line it all up with attest.... total PITA.

Hi Ben thanks for the mention. Chris I am in Twickenham every day and now live in Teddington, so be really happy to show you my E85 facelift as Ben said on a manual 2007 2.5Si. I drive both this and a Jazz as my 'van', and no particular bothers on driving position. Mine has the sports seats as part of the Sports package. These seats are a little more awkward as they have surround bolsters. Ben pointed out the 'normal' seats which come on the SE as standard are less 'huggy' but easier to get in and out of. As my car also has the Sports suspension you do have to swing your legs out first and can be a bit of a bind directly onto the pavement so find myself 'choosing' to park away from the pavement!! I love the seats which are also heated but tbh only ever use the heat in ultra cold weather, the car is so well insulated it also warms up really quickly even with the ragtop. As someone who has had all sorts of back problems and whiplash which still affects my neck from four decades ago and sciatica affecting my legs and bum and all sense of feeling as well as burning down back of legs and bum and entire numbness rigjt down to feet (caused by playing squash and playing through sharp pain ending all running if any kind a decade later) I had co cars as autos as my back wouldn't take the pressure of a manual I find now my Zed is very comfortable. I have a cruise control and small loom to fit still, but I love driving the car so much and without the big business miles I used to do and this is all for pleasure I haven't been pushed to install this, as this can take the pressure off on the back of the spine and drive on the finger on any journey where you need a steadyish speed. I bought a 6 month old 530i touring back in 2001 with just 8,000 miles from a dealer principal and found this the most relaxing car ever to drive, I love the smell of the leather which seems to come with Beamers too!

Anyhow I am keen to find a local Zed4 buddy as sometimes it's much easier to have two pairs of hands, eyes, testing, pressing buttons and pedals etc. whilst working on the car. Actually be good to meet and chat on mutual interest too! Send me a message!!
