Tweaked 135i/335is are undoubtedly quick - I've driven examples of both - but the Z4M is so much more involving. The *35s are better long-distance cars however.
As for 996/997 Turbos - forget it. Very little will keep up with them on real-world roads. I'd still rather have a GT3 though.
