Z4 M Roadster

Hello,

I’ve just sold my Alpina B3 and I’m now looking for a Z4 M Roadster to replace it.

I’m looking for:

• Roadster, not Coupe
• 40-80K Miles (Condition is more important than mileage)
• Ideally, Interlagos blue, but other colours would fine (except for bright silver or white)
• Less fussy on interior colour
• Full Specialist / Dealer history, with documentation of regular servicing and repairs / refurbs
• Spec not too important, but heated seats is must, NAV would be nice
• Number of owners not too important, but current owner must have had it for a reasonable amount of time.

I'm ready to buy the right car, I'm in North Hampshire, about 10 miles south of Reading, so it should be in a reasonable distance (under 100 miles or so). The seller must be open to a professional inspection and/or open to allowing the specialist who last serviced / inspected the vehicle to discuss the car openly with me.

Welcome - I assume the nav in the Z4MR is the same as in my E86 and I can tell you it's meh at best. It's also one more thing to go wrong and one day I am sure mine will die Personally I would favour a car without it.

Welcome aboard I’d forget all about having Nav as a must have, my MR didn’t have it and the MC does, I much prefer not having it, hope you find a good one

Welcome to the forum Jon.

My MC came with the SatNav and it's pretty hopeless! I only tried it once when I collected it - if I hadn't been stationary on the A1(M) because of an accident I would have lost interest before I got half-way through entering my destination. :lol:

I know you'd prefer something localish, but as the UK only got about 600 you might need to travel to find the right one. I ended up going to Rutland for my car! But I'm so glad I did.

Hi All,

Thanks for the warm welcome! Good advice on the sellers location. This is always the challenge with stuff made in quite small numbers.

The NAV is a nice to have, but poo heaters is my only must have.

I’m interested in the NAV as it’s a bit of a curio in these, rather than it’s functionality. I’ve had the MK4 NAV in a few cars and I’d agree it’s quite outdated. Some how Land Rover seemed to make it worse in the RR than the BMW versions. It was like a digital etch-a sketch.

I like it as a bit of interesting period tech in the car. In the same way as the digital dashes in old Vauxhall and Opel stuff. Not as good as the analogue dials, but a period curiosity.

I’ll need to keep a lookout for this car, Perthshire isn’t that big.
