Z4 M Pistonheads Price Index - Week 10 - Updated

as I've said before, both coupe and roadster in low mile, low owner form seem to be commanding solid pieces now days... both can be had cheaply however for higher mile, higher ownership cars...
i hope they both continue to rise.

So are you opining that given the same spec, there's no diff between coupé and roadster prices these days?

i don't really care tbh....

just saying that each car of the above description will command more- nothing more, nothing less.

Just the impending summer fluctuation I'd have thought? Coupe prices fairly static, but Roadsters more seasonal (up in spring, down in autumn).

+1 Very true.

Any one looking at Z3M Coupes. Now selling for more than Z4 and rising. A mate of mine drove from Cornwall to Munich Legends, with the intention to purchase one, a week back. He was surprised by how poor condition it was in and drove back, empty handed. Said rusty Coupe sold, as seen, for £16500, the next day, I'm told

There was one advertised for £12,995 and one for £15,995 to which both arrived on the same day and I was there when they were taken in... I don't know what your chap was looking at but they wouldn't have been sold in poor shape but you are correct in saying they flew out, both sold pretty much immediately. There are very few breadvans out there for sale at the mo.

Apparently there was rust starting on the wheel arches of one and in the boot of the other. Enough to have him walk away after driving up from Cornwall. It was the Silver one he was after, which I belive was the better of the two. Not seen either myself, not even seen the adverts so just reporting what he told me. :)

Update, my mate gave up on the Breadvan. Now the proud owner of a Silver Z4MC. Not signed up here yet though. :)

Finally updated

Week 4 2015

Roadster 9Cars Avge Asking Price 14481 Avge Mileage 50831.3 - Med price 14995 Med Miles 44900
Coupe 12 Cars Avge Asking Price 18432 Avge Mileage 44223- Med Price 16995 Med Miles 51000

Coupe Tax 3951 Coupe Factor 1.27 , seasonal factor again - seems to me that prices are static but the mileage is going up :driving:

probably the Hexagon car is having an Impact on prices for Coupes on the Average

Great work but surely worth removing the outliers in the data sets (Hexagon are dreaming and cant even get the description right  )

kinda agree with this... whether roadster or coupe hexagon need to be excluded theirs prices are not realistic.

Have to agree, better to take it out and get a true comparison.

What i can say is whatever car you own, if you look after your z4m, service it properly theirs a good chance you may well loose very little money, can't remember the last time i saw one on the road tbh..... rare car that will either stick where it is or one day go up quite bit, i think we are all in great position which is a nice bonus ontop of owning this great little car, i for one, love mine and can't see myself without it.

X2

Log transform the data first to obviate the impact of any outliers and non normally distributed data on the whole
Then subtract log transformed values for the coupe from the roadster and then take the antilog of the mean log difference and hey presto you get a nice geometric mean fold ratio for the difference . Be neat to see if the geom mean ratio is much different from the arithmetic mean ratio ,which it should be if the data are not normally distributed . You can even do a simple calculation using xl on the log transformed values to give you the 95% confidence interval for the geometric mean fold difference between coupe and roadster - ie you'll need to anti log the values for the confidence interval to get this ,and if the lower end of the 95% confidence interval for the geo mean excludes unity then by definition you know then that it's not by chance that coupes are the more desirable cars in terms of market values .
Yawn :headbang:

Or failing all of that just look on PH and the simples eye ball test will tell you all you need to know in that the coupe is indeed clearly the more desirable model for z4m ,at least on then basis of price in the winter months

The Median prices will give a better indication.

Thats why we have the Median - the Hexagon car was left in as its not the first time an optimistic Hexagon car has remained in the calculation ..... remember its just for Fun !

Good news for both Coupe and Roadster owners - these cars seem to be depreciation-proof these days :)

Have to say owning mine for 3 years I reckon at most its lost £500 per year if I were to sell privately.

It's really good news because they seem to have bottomed out. I reckon the only real move now will be a slow, gradual creep up in prices for those where condition/mileage combo is good.

ok this week...... wait for it

Roadsters

Average Selling £ 18156, Average Mileage 45739 Mean Selling £16950 Mean Mileage 44900 ( 7 Cars)

Coupes
