Wow. Excellent price. I thought I had given away my (basic spec) roadster last month at £20k, and coupes always fetch more...

Car was detailed the weekend and looking spanking.

It is just sitting in the garage waiting for a new owner.

Where is the car ?
And is that an aerial sticking out of the rear wing - how quaint !

Does this have Xenons / Satnav ?

What was the last service (Insp 1 / 2 etc) .

Cheers

can I pay the price the thread title on the last post says? £1750 - now that would be a bargain! :P
I know, I know, it's chopped the last few characters off!

on a serious note, looks a lovely car, if I had the money I would be seriously tempted!
good luck with the sale :)

Well, perhaps I need my eyes tested but;

"All Z4M's have xenons. The rest of the information you asked is in the first post :poke:"

The service intervals are there but not which type of services they were.
Still can't tell where the car actually is.
Thanks for the info on the Xenons and sorry I missed the Satnav . . . . 8)

Services are always the same Liffy. I posted a thread about it here somewhere.

Oil Service
Inspection 1
Oil Service
Inspection 2

Then 'rinse and repeat' as they say...

There is still debate about these, mines due an inspec1 in 7k but is 4 years old in 2 months so will ring three dealers and see what they say, but reading the manual it looks like oil only meaning mine would be.

Oil
Oil
Inspection 1

That 7k would also last me 2 years if I kept it that long so it wouldn't be false economy even.

No, definitely not Oil, Oil, Inspection 1. That I can guarantee.
Each service schedule is that, and it will indicate such on the dash. If you do not hit the mileage, you service every 2 years. Brake fluid is also every 2 years and is not mileage limited.

Ik ...I disagree, this has been covered several times.

If the dash says 7,000 to next service, then that is what you have left. If the 2 years are up then the oil should be changed,as an interim.
The inspection items are replaced on use and wear...not time Hence why BMW use this system.
It says in the manual 'for low mileage users (4,000 pa) the OIL should be replaced every 2 years regardless of mileage. It does not say bring the inspections forward, leave that job to the onboard pc

IK you are wrong, oil max with brake every two years. The actual service is as indicated by the dashboard. You would probably not get a stamp in your service book for it and it would be a mistake for them to reset the dash counter. Have just been through the same dillema. I had 5.5k to inspec 1 which is about a year for me, inspec 1 done but doesnt need oil as that would then be running on a two year cycle of its own.

In the end for simplicity and resale - just didnt want the complicated questions and understandably cautious private buyer if I found one, I has inspec 1 done at 4 years old with only 21k showing, with brake fluid. History now looks solid and I obviously have not scrimped on servicing.

Sorry VvrooomM, I don't understand what you just said.

As you say, the actual service is as indicated on the dash. When you have an oil service carried out as per schedule, the dash will then change to say that an Inspection is due next. This would mean Oil Service, Insp1, Oil Service, Insp2, recurring; would it not? You sound from your post like you are agreeing with my theory, not disagreeing...

Oil, roughly every 15,000 miles or 2 years
Inspection 1, roughly a further 15,000 miles or another 2 years (4 year point)
Oil, roughly a further 15,000 miles or another 2 years (6 year point)
Inspection 2, roughly a further 15,000 miles or another 2 years (8 year point)

Brake fluid is time limited and is carried out every 2 years regardless of mileage.

No IK you are still wrong unless I misinterpret??

Based on a 1000 miles only per year after purchase the service history on a car bought today assuming oil service just completed and showing 15k to inpection 1 would read

oil service with brake fluid Oct 2012
oil service with brake fluid Oct 2014
oil service with brake fluid Oct 2016
etc etc

The dash tells you at what MILEAGE the service will be due but irrelevant of that you must have oil and brake changed every two years max

At some point probably in around 7 years as actual mileage never matches the counter as this figure actual drops in 25 mile increments based on FUEL used, the care would need its INSP 1, at this point and this point only the dash counter should be reset to then show, OIL 15400 miles

hope that clears things up
