Z4 M brakes

Hi All,
Proud new owner of a 2007 Z4 M (New for me) with 15K miles on it. My question is that the brakes squeak when I come to a rolling stop.
The dealer say this is normal. Can anyone confirm or should I go back and make a stink! (The dealer said something to the effect of the metal content in the pads)

Thanks
Leo

My standard pads didn't squeak at all, but my new non-BMW pads did for the first 1,000 miles. Are your pads new?

Welcome to the Forum. No your brakes shouldn't squeak. Your dealer is just avoiding doing some simple and routine maintenance. Dust is normally the cause of 'squeaking' or the pads are worn down to the metal backing. 15k miles on a M and it may be time for a pad change. Either way I would want them checked and the pads removed and calipers cleaned - pads reseated (or replaced) with a thin smear of copper-grease on the back to eliminate future problems.

As 3m5 says may be new pads that just need bedding in.

Thanks all,
I went back to the dealer and the cause of the squeaking was dust. I love this car. I am so happy I did not buy the Porche
