Z4 Lowering springs which do you use?

Hi all,

Went out in the 4 yesterday, came home and noticed the car sitting lob sided on the left. jacked it up and sure enough the back left spring snapped :headbang:

My question is searching the net there are so many companys making spring kits for the z4 now , which is best / would you reccomend?

if you have pictures / feedback it would be great?

I looked on ebay.de and see you can save around £50 on the eibachs but im just after some tried and tested reviews really.

Thanks in advance

Kieran

Hi Kieran,

Eibach is the popular and recommended spring.

What engine do you have in your Zed? If it's the 2.0 your range is limited as Eibach have discontinued that kit.

SPAX and HRR are other options, both are stiffer than the Eibachs so I'm reliably told!

Try motorsportworld.co.uk, they've been very helpful and honest about options for my 2.0.

Cheers,
John

Hi ive just fitted Eibachs yesterday after the passenger rear spring did its favourite trick for bmw springs , only driven it a little but it does feel better , i got mine from europerformance .

Hi Guys

Im sorry i know this has done a million times but tried and tested reviews from members is what i need.

The cars a 2.2 so there is a few i can choose from . just not sure how low it will end up on 18s?

Scattered amongst these pages as you allude to is loads of experiences of Eibachs.
The general consensious is that they give a slightly more compliant/improved ride at the initial part of the spring and firm up during cornering.
Check out the recent Syke thread, the pictures start on pg12 and there are pictures of your possible combination a11y & Nosa are both running Eibachs with 18's and Alzay (I think) and myself are running Eibachs with 19's.
If you go this route you won't regret it, they are cheaper than Snap Happy OEM BMW one's (all 4 for the price of 2 OEM) and have a better guarantee 5 years instead of 2.
The only thing you have to ask yourself assuming you have standard suspension on your 2.2 and it was not specced with M suspension is can you live with going 30mm lower.

Im interested in a set of eibachs for my 3.0 (2004).
Wonder if the various suppliers may provide a group discount?
Im off tommorow and can ring around and get some price breaks for >5, >10 and >15
Those interested let me know
