Z4 journey.

Seats and grills deposited. Much better for me.

Seats are no where anything like as bright as they appear in photo. The virgin leather behind the folds etc is close to that on the photo. Not bad condition really one small hole on drivers bolster which requires filling and some on the thin leather next to it. Just waiting for the heated panel to arrive and it’ll be much more comfy.

Much prefer the oem grills especially to the fake m sport ones that were there in purchase.

Door cards at some point or maybe I’ll leather paint them. We’ll see no rush to do that.

Gives better idea of condition and colour part way through cleaning and conditioning.

Tbf pay yours does look the part. It does help that yours looks fully loaded too. Lucky so and so.

I'm assumy Pay is Paul! I do it all the time 🤣

Yeah Ive got the original receipt, the buyer paid around £40k for the car from BMW in 2004. Basically added every option possible which made zero sense as had he spent the same he could've got the Z4M.

He seemed just tick every box, from seats to carpets to suspension. Very weird. But I'm glad he did!

This is why I could never sell the car, not just because I love it but because its constituent parts are worth more than the car itself.

Yours is a cracking car too and like I say you've got a great bit of kit for a great price. These things are so undervalued.

All the best and keep us updated. 👍

Tomorrows job. Hopefully easy peasy. Inpa says it’s number two that’s out of tolerance but I’ll confirm again before I swap it out. Had to order a 27mm too.

Very easy. Crack the old one then it should be easy with your fingers. Have the new one ready and simply swap the two over. Will only lose a wee drip of brake fluid. Not enough to worry about.

Thanks buddy. That’s the plan but knowing my luck I’ll end up dropping the new one into the abyss once I get the old one off.

Well good and bad happened today. Checked the DISA valve and although it’s a little easier to push than the videos show it still solid and the pin is well and truly at home.

Found some air leaks on the intake boot so need another one of those.

Changed the dsc sensor 2 and although the pressures now pretty much match the “offset print brake circuit 1” is showing as in the red still. I did delete the codes and it was fine for a few miles but the same error code but sensor one now has come back along with the dsc and handbrake light. Hopefully that doesn’t mean a new unit but unsure about how to go forward now.

I lost probably 2 to 3ml of brake fluid. Pedal feel is the same.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Busy day yesterday. Managed to change the intake boot and the oil filler housing gasket. God it had leaked a lot and by the looks of it for quite a while. The undertray was a good 5 mil thick with oil and muck. Left the undertray off for easy inspection over the next week then if alls good I’ll take the front reinforcement plate off as that’s also baked in the same oil as it blew back. The gasket was as expected basically plastic instead of rubber and had lost most of its thickness.

The tensioner and pulleys are a little noisy by hand so they’ll need doing at some point but no rush. Also engine mounts are leaking somewhat but again no rush as they are pliant at the moment.

Cars running sweet and the dsc lights seems to have calibrated itself and is now all clear. Win!

Loving zed life.

The red seats look great. I hated the black seats in my old 335i. The interior was much nicer after it was changed to red leather.

Spot the difference……….. 18’s to 17’s.

I like those 17’s.

I wanted to put them on my coupe but everyone else managed to talk me out of them. I do regret it sometimes.

Thanks very much stc. I’m much happier with them. Not a massive fan of black wheels and these are identical just 1 inch smaller.
