Like face book but without the massive security breech, a dedicated button on the screen that takes you to say...new posts for example.
Just thought id float the idea out there. :tumbleweed:

What "massive security breech" would that be then?

Do you not watch the news? try BBC News 24.

if you mean this http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/manchester/8523103.stm - I is see no breech.

I use FB a lot so would welcome any information

:? :tumbleweed:

confused as to what you are asking for still...

sounds like you dont like facebook, so why you want an app :|

I thought about developing one; it'd be quite cool and useful - spotted would be one good feature!

However, to get your app in the appStore, you have to signup for the yearly developer program (which costs $99), then you have to wait for apple to approve you as a developer, which is at about six months queue at present.

If you don't mind jailbreaking your iPhone and install Cydia, then I'd write one.. but I wasn't gonna pay $99 and wait forever to write an app that only I'd use... when Safari shows this site perfectly, albiet you need to zoom in lots and need to scroll around the page like a lunatic at times ;)

Now I see what you are on about.

This is not a "massive security breech" this is the usual abdication of personal responsibility and blame culture that the UK has descended into. I think the fist link I posted is more worrying.

Anyway this is a forum about cars not the web or social networking, so I'm sorry to have gone off on one and will count this as me daily rant.

Just go to the homepage and then click the plus sign to add the page to the home screen. It's not an app but will take you to the homepage with one click. There is a tremendous amount of versatility to the iPhone.

I can see the advantage of having a lightweight site specific forum browser which makes easy navigation possible, a la Facebook or rightmove apps.
Presumably it would be possible to create a generic phpBB app, since so many forums use it, and then point it to any forum you want with your login details.

A quick search has revealed this:
http://www.messageforums.net/iphoneforumreader.php

Looks like it would need an add on script to be run on the server. Perhaps sp3ctre might take a look into it.
