i own a 2006 2.0i facelift and want to know if there is a cold air induction kit that i can fit ? K&N tell me that they do not make 1 for this engine ? any help greatly appreciated.
thanks

This maybe from AFE:

http://afepower.com/shop/details_new.php?partno=54-10651&filter&menu=gas&engine=L6&searchtype=vehicle&make=BMW&model=Z4&year=2006&engine=L6&&brandID=52

Not sure if that will give you any induction roar though.

Thanks guys but I really would like to fit an induction kit. Does anyone know if the 120i kit would fit ? If not, any advice on a good system would be much appreciated. Thank you.

Been abroad in NZ since then and the car was in storage. Now I'm back in the UK I want to start modifying the car.

Can anybody help please ? all the sites suggest that I'm barking up a rotten tree. Will the 2.5i K&N filter fit ?

Thanks again.

Thought this was a good site for getting quality information from z4 owners ? Many thanks.

You've had quality information, it's a waste of time, you are barking up a rotten tree. If you want noise go the exhaust route, sure there are plenty of threads on backbox deletes etc.

The 2.0l engine is not really the one you want to be modding. Not only would it make better financial sense to sell and buy another with a larger engine. But also there just isn't the stuff out there for it.

As for will it work??? I doubt any other z4 parts would work. Best off looking for 320 parts I would think???

Will this be another JE type thread?

Forum member: Should I do it?
Forum: No
Forum member: ok, I'm going to do it.

+1

If the advice is not what you want to hear then that's tough and you have to make your own mind up

K&N make a panel filter.

Frankly don't waste your time or money as the Zed system is already very good

+1, can't see the point imho.

make that +2

unless you can create a direct line air feed, and sort out the exhaust restrictions, and then re map it to suit, dont bother its as good as it will get within a few horses, and you wont feel any one :fuelfire:

this is good advice as someones already said, honestly your wasting 50 quid or whatever, theres no engine mod, that you will do, that will increase performance enough for you to feel it or notice it.
if you have 3 or 4 grand, id look at rear diff change, id look at a head skim, port and a direct air induction system, along with new header, and complete exhaust without cat, and a re map
you might just see 30hp more, just!

If AFE had a kit, they would have it listed.

There's nothing wrong with wanting more induction growl to enhance the driving experience. This is an easier and less permanent mod than cutting off the muffler. A sports car isn't a sports car if you can't hear it IMHO.

You already know power gains are minimal. You won't lose power (big forum myth).

I wouldn't try to retrofit a kit that wasn't meant for your car. Too many headaches. If it was easy, AFE would have done it.

Aye mate. Give your car over to a cowboy garage and turbo the 2.0 litre engine. Believe me it's "unique" and "no one has ever done it before/yet". I believe it will whip many 3.0 litre engines and possibly the 3.2 ///M brigade since "it will be lighter".

Don't listen to anyone. Just do it if everyone says no.
