Season just ended in re northeast so figured I'd post some photos from the last event (which by the way we really should get a Motorsport section here!).

Looks like fun, so I think we could do with more information, series etcetera.

Hmm, did this get moved? Thought I posted in General section.

This was at Summit Point in WV, HPDE with NASA.

So West Virginia I get. HDPE (high density poliethylene) I know as black plastic pipe - is this "black pipe plastic"? The only NASA I know sends stuff into space. "HPDE with NASA"? :scratchhead:

sorry, will elaborate =)

HPDE - high performance driving education/event, also sometimes referred as driver schools. Basically allows enthusiasts to get on tracks, broken into different skill levels. Beginner/novice levels require an instructor in the car. These track sessions are usually accompanied by classroom instruction as well. A more technical and thorough explanation:

NASA - one of the many auto sports clubs in the states. This organization has regional chapters throughout the country, and their events include HPDE, TT (time trial), club racing, auto-x, and even karting.

Great photos. How is your camera (GoPro?) mounted? It looks like it's clamped to the tow hook...are you using the handlebar mount to clamp to the tow hook?

I actually purchased an adapter that utilizes the tow hook space specifically meant for the GoPro camera. It's a bit pricey but I think it the videos turn out decent:

However, there are cheaper (free) alternatives. I've seen somemone pop out one of their kidney grills and mount it inside there using one of the adhesive mounts. That video actually looked better than mine and in hindsight I would've probably done that, although driving grill-less sorta looks funny.

Looks great fun, how did your tyres last out on track? :driving:

I don't run slicks but my street tires held up surprisingly well. I run Direzza Star Specs and they are fantastic on the track. My only complaint is that they get greasy after 20 mins. I've heard the Hankook R-S3's are better (and cheaper) but don't offer the same treadlife nor wet performance.

Rainy day at Watkins Glen Int'l and I didn't have any traction issues whatsoever:
