Z4 illuminated gear knob

I am looking for some advice on changing the gear knob on the Z4m.
I have bought a zhp gear knob but have read that the gear knob in the Z4m is illuminated,i take it that this must
involve some sort of cable/connection just didnt want to damage anything as i know these require a hefty pull to remove .

I dont have the car yet as i am waiting on the dvla sorting out my reg transfer but it has been delayed due to strike action .
I just hope i can get the car before next tuesday as i go back offshore for 3 weeks and i am now quite desperate to get the car.

There was a good thread somewhere with a how-to and pictures. Have a search.

Basically you need to pull up the gaitor where it connects to the centre console. This reveals the connection which you can pull apart before you pull the knob off. It's very simple.

Isn't the ZHP very similar to the standard /M knob anyway? (apart from the illumination)
