Hmmm. £93.50, also brand new unused, delivered from BMW Direct on eBay, so yours are cheaper but not the steal of the century. It's winter so you're selling something that will just go in the garage for at least a couple of months, and as you already know you'll find it very difficult to sell anything on here without pics... PM and email is just clumsy when all you have to do is stick the photos on here so everyone can see instantly what you're selling, and the quality. I haven't seen these often on here or on eBay, but people do buy them when they come up so if nothing else you should get a few offers PM'd to you to consider. Worth putting the 10mins work in ?

Bing,

you asked the wrong question about postage

this is the new terms and conditions of buy/sell section (I just quote):

"You must include a price in your for sale or trade post

You cannot increase your asking price

You must include the P&P charge to UK. If not stated separately it will be assumed that it's included in your asking price

Imported (non-UK) goods must have their country of origin stated

Accepted payment methods must be stated

Describe the goods accurately. Be honest. If you misrepresent the condition or history of the goods, then the purchaser is within their rights to demand a partial refund or a return of the goods at your expense"

Dealer price identical to ebay price so its probably easier just to visit your local dealer.

I find it hilarious and a little unfair that people take the time to critique someones selling advert and pricing? If you aren't interested then you aren't interested. :?

Well there's a sensible balance where members work to their mutual benefit to flag up pricing inconsistencies. After all it's not eBay and most benefit from the free service.
I agree though on the likes of a hardtop seller that's becoming a group buy and trip to Munich...

At £75 my interest was piqued as I quite fancy some of these - though they are not top of my list - and a bit of private haggling could've resulted in a better price. However postage wasn't mentioned (good point navid.v, shall go re-read the rules :headbang: ), and everyone on here always asks for photos - ref. the hardtop thread that resulted in beedub's recent purchase... And the OPs own recent experience selling his car. I was just offering some friendly advice just like many others on here do - if the OP is offended then I'd apologise immediately.

As for the the current hard top thread, I agree in principle, but that's the OP's first post on here and they've not responded at all so far to the initial comments about it being over-priced. Pretty sure I saw a post or two from lacroupade in there about pricing... :poke: :D

There are a few of you on here who need to get out more.

We do, in our cars, with the roof down... :poke:

In all seriousness, people will analyse, check and test things, especially an enthusast community. I have counted to 100 before and deleted a post before pressing "submit". Take the banter on here as the friendly ribbing it is intended to be. You're an (ex) owner and welcome here.

id rather people flag up things like how much they cost from a dealer etc.. i would expect if they were 93 from a dealer, to pay in the region of 55-60.

at 70 id be semi interested if they were in tip top condition.

at 85 no thanks

Be fair, if they're new-ish, and in a bag and in tip top condition, you're getting a free bag and a discount. I was tempted at £75, then the additional tenner put me off.

[edit] I don't know if the new ones come with a bag, and I have no idea how old these are and there are no pics. Just trying to maintain a balanced view. Or am I doing this... :fuelfire:

yep, new ones come with a bag - i bought a set when i got the car, then sold them on ebay a few months later

With all due respect they were supportive of the OPs pricing ethos in that case - I've watched (sadly) hardtop prices regularly on eBay for four years.

I just don't think its fair for anyone to be criticising a For Sale ad in public...by all means point out untruths etc.., or make a lower offer, but the price someone wants is the price someone wants - if you don't like it you ignore the ad, pointing out half a dozen other places where one might get a better deal isn't cricket IMHO.

I mean you don't go round writing to the estate agents about pricing in their windows, or to the newspapers about sale ads do you? Just cos its the internet we think its acceptable practice. Call me pernickity but its just not something I'd do - not being contentious or hyer-critical, just saying ladies....

In fact the ideal thing IMHO would be for someone posting a FS and to be able to lock the thread but be able to bump it occasionally or post extra info if its requested. That would avoid lengthy threads and tw@s like me

lacroupade, like I said, I was only trying to be helpful, but you make good points even if I don't 100% agree with them all :D

To the OP - my apologies

Going out now

If they're £93 from a dealer I'd expect to pay less from Lincoln Sopers with delivery, I'd say £84 which is roughly 10% off
