Z4 G29 Delivery Delays

Got an update this morning. It’s still “in transit” and hasn’t reached the port.
How long does it take to go from Austria factory to port? I mean if it’s in transit and moving it surely shouldn’t take more than a day or two? It’s been 4 days already.

Honestly the problems they are having in delays are worse than I thought.
 
I think someone is driving it over [ref]ori[/ref], and are taking the scenic route via the Nurburgring. :rofl:

At least the car will be run in when you get it. :wink:

It’ll also need new tyres if it’s taking your suggested route home :wink:

Hahaha. Yeah I’m booking it for new tyres and respray the front to get rid of the stone chips from the ring. ;)

Don’t know what port it leaves from. I think it comes into Southampton though.

It will sail from Bremerhaven and arrive at either Southampton or Immingham in UK.

Thanks for that. On the positives. Engine will be run in and nice and loose. Protective film as you mentioned.
Just hope the change tyres and brakes before delivery. Maybe that’s done at PDI? 😂😂😂😂

So at least it’s a relatively short trip once the ship leaves Bimmerheaven (I do like that!). Can’t be too much longer now Ori!!

It depends on the schedule of the boat. The boat which my 520d was on stopped at Belgium then Southampton. So, the boat spent a night sailing to Belgium and RORO there for a day. Then another night sailing to Southampton and RORO including my car during the day. Then, instead of going to the dealership, it's transported to BMW Delivery Center in Doncaster before it was sent to the dealer. For my G29, the boat sailed straight to Southampton overnight so the car arrived next morning and sent straight to the dealership in Cambridge.
 
If it’s any conciliation mine was code182, handover to carrier, on the 29/10/2021, which was 10 days ago. Let’s hope the boat didn’t sink :o

Is it still code 182? Mine was on code 182 for 13 days.
It’s now code 190 which means it’s on its way to port.

Next code is arrives at port of exit.
Don’t think we have that much longer to wait. 2 weeks I reckon. We shall see!

Is your estimated delivery still this week?
 
Allegedly they're just taking a little detour through the Suez on a container shipped called the "Ever Given". I'm sure all will be fine :evil:
 
[ref]ori[/ref], That’s just pants, I can accept delays because of a shortage of parts, but delays in getting it shipped is pretty poor indeed :thumbsdown:

Which means mine will be even later, :x Top it all new alloys arrived today, just no car to out them on :cry:

These the winter tyre alloys?

As for your car being even later? I can’t know for sure, but since it completed after mine then it should be. However, who knows?

Ask your dealer for what is the estimated delivery and what code it’s at now.
