I'm unit based so not got a vehicle with onboard water/power and the like.

I'm more of an 'if you build it they will come ' school of detailer

hahaha nothing wrong with that buddy, i hope to have a unit soon! looking forward to getting the new van set up though!

Picked mine up today after a well timed work trip put me in Chester for a couple of days. Have to say I'm very happy with the results. Paintwork has a great depth and gloss, and feels perfectly smooth to the touch. Ricey even removed a noticeable scuff on the rear quarter panel (previous owner!) Roof is also looking best it's been since I had the car, and water was beading off it beautifully.
Unfortunately on work time I haven't had chance to take pics in daylight, ricey has sent me a load which I'll try and line up a few before and after from in the next day or two. Weather permitting I'll get the camera out this weekend. If you're near Chester, this is a bargain.

This offer was originally open until the 31st but as of now it is closed.

The thread simply showing the outcome of Paulys full detail has been deleted (regardless of it having no real commercial content) so the point of not wanting this or any other offer available to the community has been heard loud and clear.

Very strange if you ask me (especially given that it was practically priced at cost and as such only a benefit to the comminuty) but it's your house so do with it as you see fit.

It was a very fair and generous offer and you are to be thanked and applauded for making it.
I think the only problem was the logistics of members being available at the right time and in the right place.
All the responses I remember were very positive but probably daunted when one considered how the offer was to be effected.
Best of luck in your enterprise.

Sorry this thread has been removed :? I don't understand the logic as the work carried out on my car far exceeded any cost incurred, plus Ricey didn't put a gun to my head for the service. This forum has many members who sell products or a service so why remove a cheap service that benefits members. The price Ricey charges certainly wont make him a millionaire nor support him to pay his bills. This country is in a recession and I believe supporting local business is a good idea, especially when it benefits fellow forum users. Don't let this get you down Ricey it was a pleasure dealing with you yesterday :)

It is indeed a super low price..

I do a bit of detailing on the side and i nearly use £50 of products every time i do a car....

People should be lining up around the streets to get work done at that price..

Hi guys,

Please allow me to explain, but for background please see this thread:

http://www.z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=70322

The decision was made a while back to put a stop to people running their business through the forum. We have had numerous (a lot!) of approaches by companies (usually detailers) looking to sponsor the forum and turned them, so it seemed a bit unfair having said that to allow people to do just that. The problem was when it was one detailer we didn't put a stop to it then, as it wasn't really affecting the forum. Once the numbers went up it was becoming a bit like detailingworld.

After I posted the above thread the posts stopped, but the referenced (deleted) thread was exactly one of those posts, and so was removed. I do see the appeal of these posts, but having made the decision not to allow commercial posting by members it was unfair on the others to allow it to stay. Sure, £50 is a good offer (or loss leader... which ever), but that's not the point. Just because one person charges less is not a reason to ignore the rules.

The decision has been made to run with these rules into the New Year and re-evaluate then.... we may stick with it or we may bring in some sponsorship opportunities.
