Z4-forum weekender: Skye, 14/15 May 2011

:) Last day at work today for the week, took Friday off. so for me the weekend is already here. getting a bit of a buzz now about the drive.. :)

Are we needing to bring anything apart from a tent and ££££? I'm just wondering how we will play Brekkie, Lunch etc etc??

Planning to bring my walking boots or will I just bring my drinking arm? :tumbleweed:

Walking boots !!!!!! are you planning on breaking down :D

Brekkie, either make your own or have it in the Hotel. bring cash for lunche,s etc, and a little weight work out on your drinking arm before you leave wouldn,t hurt.

Breakfast: we're doing cereal, etc on the campsite. Oh, and the campsite for essential tea/coffee 8)

Lunches: Saturday we should have time to grab something in Mallaig once we're in the ferry queue, but whatever it'll be will have to be quick, i.e. eating out. Sunday the plan is for a stop in Dunkeld and I've got the idea to head to the Taybank for stovies (just to confuse our southern friends), but there's lots of options in Dunkeld if that doesn't suit.

Don't think we'll have space in the car for walking boots!!!

One day of work to go and it's a big one: in for 8, meeting from 9.45-4.00 then hopefully away by 5 :(

Lunch in Mallaig? Have you forgotten the horror?

Sounds enchanting - presumably it's some healthy traditional local dish! ( deep fried?) Tablet and bru afterwards?

Also not rushing off to Edinburgh now so chilled in terms of arrival time on Sunday.

Just cleaned and dried car - though I'd let you all know as it might not be clear by time you all see it!

I hate "stovies" :x

All packed and ready to go.......to Tunisia at 02:00 monday morning, deja vu or what  . at least I've been in the UK prior to the trip this time. They did want me fly on Sunday but I've been looking forward to this for so long now I said no. See you all in 24 hours.
I so exited I can't sleeeeee.......ZZZZzZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz!

I'll be setting off from sunny Lincolnshire in 5 or 6 hours. Really looking forward to it but I'm such a forgetful slacker and still don't have a midge net, so hoping beyond hope I can buy one from Portree when we get to Skye! :?

Wouldn't worry about it too much mate, whilst the little feckers are about the current weather will keep them at bay, your probably not going to need one. (famous last words)

Trying to clean my car for tommorow but I've given up, I just dry it and it rains,I dry it again, I do the windows and it rains, I dry it again whilst swearing at the sky then it rains.

I give up stick it in the garage and go inside for a brew. :x

Wouldn't worry after 200+ miles mins going to be minging - hope the rain washes it clean! Just passed Hamilton on the way to the Falkirk wheel. Anyone fancy a beer in Falkirk tonight?

Would love to but I'm out with my mates tonight for some curry and cobra. It's gonna be messy.

Thanks Nosa but you look so damn cool in yours on Page 1, I've sort of got my heart set on one.

I can understand wanting to look as cool as me but be warned, there are very few people who can carry it off, seeing as SWMBO is not attending I will bring along her one so you can borrow it, It is far better looking than mine....

No can do on the beer tonight Guiesley, Just slightly to far for me for a beer, and besides, as Swmbo is not going I am on a promise tonight

Mrs Nosa promises you that and that's your response?

Guys, I'm utterly gubbed. Not long out of an epic all-day meeting and mentally spent. I'll forego the beers tonight in order to be more awake for the weekend, sorry folks. See you all bright and early tomorrow morning :)
