Z4-forum weekender: Applecross/Scotland - 18-20th May 2012!

I'll join in this game... I'm never going to win the lottery this weekend, so I won't be turning up in a 12 plate sdrive35is.

Malc is probably going with the MX-5 forum :poke: :poke:

Just kidding, hope you can make it Malc.

If I come to Applecross - the drinks are on me!
Quoted and noted

Less stop the negative vibes about driving standards (bradders75 :poke:) - think positive :driving:

And you need to set your sights higher Carl: if I won the lottery I'd be turning up in something significantly better than an e89! (no offence intended to e89 owners).

That would just be to bide my time while I decided what to really spend my money on :)

:yeah:

Will finalise the route and PM those going soon...

Chaps - as many will have guessed I'm going to bail out of this meet - kids studying like mad for gcse and 3/4 days away doesn't seem fair. Have a good one and I'll hopefully catch up later in the year.

Yeah - just spotted road was reopened today but beaten to posting cos too busy as usual - glad original route is now possible and look forward to details etc. Must practice getting some early starts and a trial pack wot with new tent 'n stuff. :driving:

RichardG It's the carpet that takes up all the room /quote said:
Nah we can't afford a carpet - besides not sure if it fits with the Feng Shui of our interior tent design - think we might opt for a simple "throw rug" . . . .in of course a contrasting neutral pastel shade

Fantastic - great news.

Slightly off topic, I had an epic roadtrip yesterday, just need to edit the pictures tonight and will post. Involved Cairn O'Mount, Slug Road, A93 Breamar road.

Counting down the days until this meet :driving:

Got the PM Ally, cheers.

Quick question - I'm thinking of getting a 2-way radio for this run (a little bit of inter-car banter whilst I'm showing you boys what the mighty 4-pot can do :poke:). Does anyone have any recommendations or suggestions for a radio?

Richard's suggestion looks OK for you

But I'm using a pair that cost £15/pair from ALDI/LIDL. Seem to do the job but they're probably not something that's stocked other than during their specials. TBH given that these cheap ones are perfectly fine, I'd imagine something cheap from Argos/Maplin/ebay would probably be OK.

I'll bring my pair of radios, so will have a spare. I guess if everyone has a radio we can all link to the same channel and enjoy the banter :D
