Z4-forum weekender: Applecross/Scotland - 18-20th May 2012!

Can anyone explain why in Andy's second photo one of you seems to be lying on the ground by his car door while Nosa is waiting for him to get up again? I understood you had a good day while I was drinking Calterdon's coffee but it seems things got a little fractious :D

No thanks you and Kirsty and Jo all had your chance to check me over but it appears that even if you know people who work in the NHS they still don't care. You'll all be sorry when I die (or not) :P

Excuse me - I have several witnesses to confirm I asked you if you would like me to examine you on the Saturday evening AND gave advice regarding it :poke:

On another note, I've had people coming to visit me in work because they've heard about my sunburnt face. One of the day surgery nurses even felt so sorry for me yesterday that she brought in aftersun for me today

Is it me or have Vango suddenly started selling a large number number of Icarus tents to the Z4 Scottish contingent?

And after all the p1ss taking we recieved last year, admittedly most of it directed at the carpet, lol.

Looks like the rest of you got the best photos on Saturday when the sun was out. Just a couple from me plus I put a bit of shaky vid on YouTube. Note my co-driver making sure I change down for the tunnel in case I forgot :driving:

Here Chris has forgotten it's a competition to put your hands in your pockets

The rest of mine are either at the campsite or on the top of the pass and there are many better ones on here already so I won't clog the thread up.

And as for clogging up the thread with your Pics. Pah
If RichardG can try and hijack it with his pics Italian roads then you post away mate, they may be some same'iness :? but they are all good.

Great photo's everyone
must do this run next year :)

There was talk of doing Skye in May next year but this time a 2 nighter, this would allow a day to either drive skye or head for Applecross.

Do it you wont regret it.

Yeah, screw the family next year, I'm in. Spent all weekend :headbang: :headbang: :headbang: that I poofed out, especially when the London meet got cancelled. Was depressed all day Sunday

However, just pinning down Wee Bing's dates for his trip to his Grandad's (looking like early or late August), at which point I'll persuade SWMBO she doesn't want to come, then :driving: :driving: :driving:

Sorry mate but wild horses couldn't drag me to Skye in August,
Midge hell, not good.

Nah, not suggesting Skye in August, more a day hoon I reckon, but I shall take this to the correct thread :D

A wee ditty to help fend off the post meet blues . . .

Applecross Rumble

To Applecross - the forum did head
For crumble & sausage & meat, mostly dead
At first weather was Scottish and then it was Med
We’re sunburnt and tanned and ready for bed

Day one – lets just get there - so stopping was short
Overtaking – just lots – no need to abort
What’s that in front – its’ sure not a zed
Jo’s Skoda was leading and well kept ahead

The Beallach Na Ba – the Pass of the Cattle
T’was narrow and twisty and made your Zed rattle
The views were tremendous with snow at the top
Some had to throw snowballs and others a strop

Two men and a tent that just wouldn’t erect
We scorned and we sniggered - “the poles must be bent”
Their efforts were done so a woman was sought
She’ll get it up - to applause -in a shot !

Big prawns at the Inn, beer, whisky & gin
A climb up the hill, to bed – we’re done in !
Camp bacon for breakfast to ease a sore head
And plan the day’s driving – more fun in the Zed

A loop round the headland & scones from a tin
A Classic Car group found – no match for our din
Then Mazdas for company the Scots MX5 crew
Much taunting and jovial flag waving ensued

A thrash up the Pass - back to camp for a Barbie
Sausage fest beckoned washed down with much lager
An M’s busted coil – the dealer had fixed
Meant our new friends returned with steak - but no chips ?

And then it was over - so many had parted
Gone their own ways – cos Nosa had f*rted !
With miles to get home and motorways bland
Our forum binds people across our great land

So we’re planning the next one – maybe to Skye ?
Or much further North – John O Groat’s we may lie ?
So enjoy the summer - achieve many great feats
And we’ll see you at more Z4-forum meets !

Lol,
Nice one Jack, although disappointed there was no mention of the stolen sainsburys burgers.

Respect Jack, that's truly brilliant!!!

I've been too busy enjoying the sunshine to sort out my photos yet - promise I'll try and do so tonight and upload over the next few days...

Jack next time I think we should get you to write and recite a masterpiece like that whilst we're still all together, well done. Rabbie Burns my arse :D
