Working away this week in the Peak District allowed me to meet up for a pint & natter tonight with forum member john-e89 who has had a rough time with some medical problems .
Great to see him in fine fettle + good humour , we sorted out a good few topics tonight :D
Top fella , true Zhead , car enthusiast & along with his 35Is the owner of a fabulous ZMR that i enjoyed seeing tonight in the real :driving:
When i joined up here almost 5 years ago the last thing on my mind was actually meeting people & forming friendships but that has been the reality thanks to the forum

Nice to hear.

I will be on a business trip as of 03.jul till 14.jul in Dartford. As I will spend the weekend there as well it would be nice if I can join any Cars & Coffee meeting or something like this on the weekend 08./09.jul.
Unfortunaly I will not travel with my own car, but be flexible with a rental car (most of the times a Vauxhall Astra  ).
If you know any meeting out of the Z4 community it would be more than welcome. Otherwise i found this event which might be an option as it is close by.

I'd met Andy previously but very briefly at a meet so a chance for a proper chat was most welcome, and a very pleasant hour and a half it was too mate, especially when I think we sing from the same hymn sheet...

I've fired a few PM's Andy's way at various points to get his opinion on car stuff and always got a level well balanced view point, as we all know he's canny and knows his stuff.

I've met some great people on here through meets etc, long may it continue.

I hope you did not mention to John that his badge is wonkey either

Good to hear about these sort of meets

Good to hear Andy  I hope you gave John a few pointers on his parking

Hmmmm..that's fairly tragic isn't it.. Well there was a big 4x4 in the next bay so I went as far from that as possible, but yes, that's hopeless parking...

Not at all - it's defensive parking! With a monster 4x4 on the left and a motorcycle on the right I would done exactly the same (well maybe straight perhaps)!

Anyway regardless of the parking, this is a great thread that seems to highlight one of the real benefits of being on the forum.

The friendliness of this forum and the people I have met over the years is the reason why nearly 10 years in I'm still here!

Nice one guys
I've had the privilege of meeting John through the forum as well and viewing his cars very nice they are too.
Are they the refurbished wheels John ?

I meant to say that if anyone was coming down here for the Lions tour of NZ they could look me up, but I don't think anyone joined the tour from here?

Totally agree Andy, some great folk on here and many will be friends forever

As many know I met my husband on here, our Usher was a forum member too (who had introduced me to Mike) and our Maid of Honour his girlfriend - 2 of our closest friends now :) Thanks Z4 Forum!

I can't compete with Ruby & Mike, which is amazing and quite special

However, I've found the forum to be a great social space. I've never done Facebook or Twitter and don't intend to, but I find this forum addictive - guess my post count says it all  I like all the characters on here and have been lucky enough to meet some of them in person:

Mr. Wilks, Taz, Jamie_z4, Z4_Pilot, stevo///m3, Paulgs1000, Patriot66, Paddy wright, Ducklakeview, Stuartt, Cerbra, 85genius, Smartbear, Number5, Cherrym, Markplant, Pastry or Firebobby (zedfest last year?), Cj10Jeeper, Craig3.2, PerryGunn, Lynchy, beetlegav, DPG, David_H, mmm-five, FilterMike, Mac27049, Dietcokeman, Obewan, Jimbo1958, Sammyz. Rossonr

(Shout up if I've missed you out  )

Have to agree with you Marlon (what a gent), some really nice people on here, even Chris D and Pastry pass as nice
This is a very addictive forum with plenty of great advice, great banter and mass discussions that normally end in chaos. I also don't do face ache, but Mrs FB calls this place my face ache.
Looking forward to zedfest again

Phew ..... Happy to have made your list Marlon. Met loads of great people on this forum, many who have become friends and who I meet for Sunday brekkie or a hoon. Some I very rarely see but will be seeing later on in the year .
