Hi, welcome to the forum  (Newbie section for formal intro and all important pics!)

Have a look at this thread...

Hope that helps.

the light does not indicate a specific problem it just means there is an issue with the engine that has caused the exhaust gases to change to a value outside the ecu's tolerances. could be an air leak letting too much air in and causing the car to run leaner than it should (the DME will try to compensate by adding more fuel to offset this as it will notice this from the oxygen sensors in the exhaust manifold)

long and short of it is get it in for diagnostics and see what comes up. it could be as simple as a tear in an inlet pipework after the air mass meter or a faulty ignition coil

hope this helps

Mine went from no light, to yellow light, to no yellow light & misfire in the space of 5 minutes.

I'm glad I demanded a patrol & tow truck as I don't think I'd want to drive it 30 miles to the nearest dealer firing on 5 cylinders.

If it's not running rough then it's probably safe to get it to the dealer - otherwise ask for a 'courtesy' patrol to come out and check it over - but don't let him stand there for 45 minutes red-lining it to see if it clears :headbang:
