I have been collecting PDF documents and information from past threads on this site for my Z4 OEM & Mod Library. However, I can't seem to find a whole car wiring diagram or schematic anywhere. Can anyone help?
Lew
Thanks.
Some of it works (text) but the actual wiring diagrams just show a blank page with a tiny multi-colored square symbol in the upper left corner. I'm no computer whiz, so maybe someone knows how I can fix that????

I too get the blank page with the little icon in the top left of the page.
The url of a page is :
http://www.bmw-planet.com/diagrams/release/en/svg/sp/SP0000018147.htm
Browsers need to be capable of viewing .svg (scalable vector graphics) to view bmw-planet WDS diagrams. The WDS package from BMW requires the same. I was under the impression all modern browsers have this capability, but this was not true just a few years ago.
Thanks to everyone for their input. I haven't replied because in my attempts to download those wiring diagrams I picked up a nasty computer malware called "certified-toolbar search" and I didn't want to take a chance on infecting others. All fixed now (after 2 hours and $100!). In the process, the computer guy fixed a lot of other problems and dumped Internet Explorer in favor of Firefox.
Sorry to hear about that. But now you're on firefox, all you should need to do is visit the following link
http://www.java.com/en/download/index.jsp
I assure you it's safe! It will download and install java to your PC and install the plugin for firefox (if you're using it when you click the above link). Then went that's done, re open firefox and go to the link in the second post
The java plugin probably did the trick with some versions. Curiously, I had the plugin, but some FF update disabled it, yet the BMW-planet graphics display fine. I would say recent FF versions are natively capable of svg graphics based on this. While there's other reasons for java, the WDS is no longer one of them.
I think I will wait for a while on the Java. My computer guy says Java is very dangerous at present and I just found this in the news: http://www.foxnews.com/tech/2013/01/14/java-flaw-homeland-security-warning-fixed/?intcmp=features . This last little computer problem cost me the price of a good mod to fix and I can't afford more!

Your computer guy is correct. There is a zero day exploit for java and general consensus is to switch off java support for now. That's not going to be possible for everyone, but unless you need java for a specific business purpose I'd turn it off. The security sites have been buzzing for a few days that the java exploit is changing hands for serious money in the "black hat" community.
