Z4 E89 water leak from the roof / A pillar

Morning all, I discovered a leak a few weeks ago whilst driving in the rain. Fortunately, the car is kept under cover, but it's still something I'd like to get fixed, as it's limiting the car's use. After doing some research, like most things to do with the roof area, these can be tricky to fix. I even read a thread where a new owner had to give back his new car in exchange for a new one, as BMW couldn't fix it.

I thought I'd found the issue where two rubber seals meet above where the window slots in, and adjusted these as there was a slight gap where these mated together, but a quick trip in the rain proved otherwise.

The leak is on the driver's side A pillar where the window slides in. Water drips down by my right knee.

Any ideas, anyone? Apologies, the second video has loud music playing.

Had a similar issue with water dripping onto right knee few years ago, cleaned rubber seals and treated with Gummi Phledge. Now I treat seals twice a year. No problems since. Fingers crossed!

Cheers, I've tried the rubber seal conditioner already, albeit not that brand. Of the two I have, I've only actually tried the Sonax so far, but guessing they all do the same thing?

Logic would say the issue is in this area, don't know how easy it would be to source the seals?

When I had my first e89 brand new in 2011, it leaked within the first week. It was an intermittent leak from behind the left tweeter housing, only in that light rain…not heavy rain or from a hosepipe!

They couldn’t fix it over loads of attempts and eventually replaced it with another new one….

Then within 2 weeks it was on sale again 😂

Could be the photo but the gap on the first roof image doesn’t look right. I will take one of mine this morning for you to compare.
